Noisy newborn when sleeping

Does anyone else's newborn make a lot of noise when sleeping? He is constantly grunting and moaning in his sleep. He does have silent reflux and I believe is never comfortable.

One of my sons was so loud it was astounding. Grunting, moaning. He is a triplet and his brothers were NOT like this at all. They barely made a peep. I thought for sure it couldn't be normal but then it passed. he stopped around 4-5 months. Good luck.

Yep, DD used to make soooo much noise when she slept. I had called in a nurse the night I gave birth because I was no nervous about the sound, and she said it was normal. That some babies are more "juicy" than others.

Noisy newborn when sleeping

All the time. When she eventually stopped, it woke me up b/c then I was afraid she wasn't breathing!

Now she just snores a lot.

Yes! We moved DS into his room at 2.5 weeks since he was grunting so much that we could not sleep. Now I keep the monitor just loud enough so I can hear him cry but not grunt.

This for us too! And we actually stopped using the monitor sound fairly quickly too. DD's room is right next to ours and we learned early on that we can hear her whether or not the monitor is on.

Re: Noisy newborn when sleeping

My boys were all noisy and they all had milk allergies. Once they were on the correct forma it got better. It could be a coincidence bc it could be tied with age!

Yes same thing with dd I thought there was something wrong with her, she was so noisy we called her Squeaks. She finally stopped.

Ds does too so I am wondering if this is it. Thanks all. I will mention it to the dr at his next checkup but not so worried now.
