My noisy sleeping newborn

DD is almost 4 weeks and has started to become so noisy in her sleep. She grunts and groans for hours. Last night starting at about 2:30am she started and it continued until about 4 when I finally got her up to nurse. She isn't awake although sometimes it turns into a cry but not until it goes on for awhile. She is sleeping in our room and it keeps us up. We swaddle her in a miracle blanket so we weren't sure if it was her trying to fight it. After the 4am feeding, I put her in a sleep sack and she still did it a little and then didn't sleep as long as usual. I am not sure if I am ready to move her out of our room. Anyone else have a noisy sleeper? Any ideas as to why she does this? Or suggestions on how to deal with it?

I totally remember this. He drove us nuts!!!! Fortunately for us, he was so big that at 7 weeks he outgrew the pack n play!!! We moved him to his crib in his own room. It was glorious!!!!!! Grunting and punchgin can still be heard on the monitor, but you sleep so much better!

my DD was like that and now so is my 4 week old DS. It keeps us awake as well but you get used to it, and it does eventually stop.

Ds was noisy when he was a newborn too. The noises bothered me at times, but our doctor assured us that was normal. He doesn't really make them anymore, just sighs sometimes in his sleep. Now he babbles to himself if he wakes up in the night.

DD does this! The first month or so, she did it sooo much - she was in our room for 1 week and we moved her to her own room b/c the noises woke us up sooo much.

Now that she is 3.5 months old, the noises have subsided somewhat. But moving her into her own room and not using the monitor when we are sleeping (her 'im hungry and awake' cries fully wake us up) have really made a big difference!

My son did this too! I thought I was going to lose my MIND! he slept in our room (in a bassinet) for the first 2 weeks. I was a nervous wreck thinking something was wrong. My ped assured me it was normal and he was just a loud sleeper. I moved him into his own room that same day (second week)! lol

My DD does this too. It's so funny but sometimes it annoys the crap out of me. My first DD didn't do this at all so it's new to me.

DS went into his crib on Day #2 becuas every little noise would keep us up.
He's still pretty noisy, he hums in his sleep!
