Those who nursed 2x a day

DD is almost 7 months and I am down to nursing her in the am/pm and the occasional middle of the night only. She gets 2 bottles of formula a day plus 3 meals. At the times I nurse I don't feel as if my boobs are "full" as they normally were when I was nursing more often. She does seem satisfied but I am wondering if anyone else had the same thing. At this point I plan to keep nursing this way until we are ready to wean completely, but I am wondering how much she is actually getting.

She is a very well fed almost 21 lbs LOL

If she seems satisfied I wouldn't worry. You don't feel as full because at this point your body is much more efficient at milk production. I pump at work and almost never feel full but still will get more milk than DC even needs every day.

I agree. By the time I was down to 2x a day, I felt very little difference between before and after nursing sessions, but the milk was still there. That was definitely confirmed when we weaned and I got somewhat engorged again!

Its hard to say. When I went down to twice daily feedings around 12 months and cut out midday feedings/pumping sessions I dried up quickly. My DS never acted unsatisfied till the very end when he would suck and suck but not really swallow for very long. I also noticed he was suddenly waking up dry. Finally I weaned night time and gave a bottle instead and sure enough wet diapers in the morning again. So my point being sometimes they don't act dissatisfied but yes you may be drying up if down to 2x's per day feeding.
