Does your DC listen to music or sound machine while falling asleep?

If yes which machine do you have? Does it stay on all night? Do you find that it helps them fall asleep by themselves? If music what do they listen to?

I don't remember which brand, but DD sleeps with a white noise machine. She is now five and still uses it. It helps drown out all the noise in the house and outside.

I have a homedics sound machine and we keep the thunderstorm sound on. We also have THIS that plays for a few minutes before it shuts itself off.

For a few years my DD listened to a lullaby CD but eventually we switched over to a sound machine. She is 5 now but still loves listening to the waves as she falls asleep. The sound machine is on a timer.

My DS also has a sound machine, he loves listening to the waves too as he falls asleep.

When she was little, we played Beatles Lullabies to her. As she got a little older she'd ask for a specific song off of the Yellow Submarine movie and fall asleep in my arms while it was on the computer then I'd carry her to her crib. Since about 2yrs or so? No music. I keep saying I'm going to change that but I don't. LOL Bed time is quiet time. No TV, No music.

Ironically she sleeps like the dead so I don't think music would really bother her. I just didn't want her to form a 'need' for music. I've been to places (hotels or other homes) with her and the ambient noise is louder that our suburbia home. Then, yes, we play her music and she loves it and falls sleep easily. Once she's asleep (like I said) a hurricane could pass over her and she'd never stir.

I have the homdics machine too & a stuffed lamb that has sound box inside ..we use whale sounds (it has rain, ocean too)

DD has been listening to music since birth (we even brought a CD player to the hospital and had it going while she slept during the day).

She is four now and listens has been listening to the same Led Zepplin baby cd (the ones where they take the song and make them into lullabyes...not an actual Led Zepplin cd!) since then. she HATES going to bed without it!

DD sleeps with white noise. I also sleep with white noise, so I had a white noise app on my old cell phone for use when I travel. Now that lives in DD's room!

She likes music and has a winnie the pooh that plays lullabies, but I've noticed that just keeps her awake longer. If we put that on, it's at the beginning of bed time routine so that it's done playing by the time I put her down to sleep.

We have table fans in both DC's rooms. DS1 also listens to a lullaby CD that's about an hour long.

dd had the sleep sheep which we used nightly and it seemed to help her get to sleep. it stays on only for 45 minutes and that was it but it worked. she used it for about 5 months or so and that was it

He went through a short period where he was waking scared and the music helped him.

DS has a Homedics sound machine in his room that we put to the Rain setting... it is on all night. DH and I have one in our room too. When it's not on, it's way too quiet!

We also use the homedics white noise - it stays on all night. At 11 months his startle reflex is still crazy sensitive!

we still use the fisher price seahorse that plays for about 10 minutes.
ds will reach out in his sleep and turn it on and off

We have a clock radio/ihome that has a timer to shut off in intervals of 15 mins up to 120 mins. We have a lullaby playllist.

He's been listening to music to fall asleep since he was born. We have a CD player in his room and we have a Mozart CD that plays in there. He even asks for it at night sometimes. We leave it on repeat all night long. We change it out at Christmas time for a Christmas Lullaby CD instead and he likes that too.

We have the homedics sound machine. We have the ocean setting on all night.

We have the munchkin one it stays on all night. I usually leave it on the rain sound since we also listen to it through the baby monitor.

I have the Homedics and DS still uses it at night (the rain sound). He's 4.5 years old.

yes, both kids since birth! white noise from the time we put them to bed until they wake up
