new to TTC - a couple ?'s
Hi Everyone. Sorry for the new username. I'm not really a frequent poster but my family lurks and knows I post occasionally. We don't want to announce we are TTC yet. I just have a question. I keep reading that it is best to BD every other day. Can anyone tell me why? DH thinks if we aren't doing it everyday ... it ruins our chances lol.

They really don't say to NOT bd every day, it's more the idea that the more often you BD the less volume of sperm count per BD... but Check out Deana's plan, it's VERY useful, and she recommends after AF to bd every other day, then during high fertility days to BD daily.

It really depends on DHs sperm count. Every other day means each time you BD the sperm count will be higher, gives him time to accumulate.
Plus honestly BDing every day is tiring and makes you super sore.
Most seem to BD every other day until O and then BD every day for a few days.
Now going through IUI we're not supposed to BD up to 2 days before the IUI, This time we BDd Friday, Sunday morning and then my IUI wasTuesday and DH had an extremely high count.

Most doctor's recommend every other day during your fertile period...if your DH has a low count this is especially important. The sperm can live inside of you for a few days.I think it is more important to track your ovulation using an ovulation predictor kit than to BD every day. You have a small window each month to conceive. My RE recommended the clear blue advanced ovulation kt and it worked well for me. I got pregnant the second month we were trying.

As long as your DH's counts are normal, it doesn't make a difference. But if you look at the statistics, BDing every day doesn't have higher pregnancy rates than BDing every other day. So if you're not in the mood, you don't have to stress it.

You can just Google it but it's very simple...
Starting CD 8, you BD every other day. Start OPKs on CD 10. Continue BD every other day until you get positive OPK. Once you get a +, you BD that day and then the next 2 consecutive days (3 days in a row), skip one day, then "try" one last time the following day.
We started Deanna's plan on our 4th month of TTC...it worked that first time for us, of course it could've just been a coincidence but it does cover your bases for the month.
