Tips for cleaning car seat straps?
My son threw up in his car seat this morning. I recently found out you're not supposed to put the straps through the washing machine, so I'm sitting here working really hard trying to scrub out all the vomit by hand. But I can still see it all inside the little lines of the straps. Any helpful tips?

Re: Tips for cleaning car seat straps?
When ds got the stomach virus in the car I soaked them in a water/vinegar solution. It got the smell out!

I've soaked them in warm water with a little detergent and oxi-clean in it. Then I usually use a stiff brush to get all the stuff out of them.

Tips for cleaning car seat straps?
The manual said they should not be submerged in water...

Hmmm maybe try putting the solution in a squirt bottle and spraying it and letting it sit and dry?

Re: Tips for cleaning car seat straps?
DD gets car sick so I have gotten really good at this. First I use a towel to get most of it off then i use a wet paper towel and scrub it. After that I use the Lysol Clorox wipes with the fibers in it and then I rinse it with a clean towel.

Re: Tips for cleaning car seat straps?
I take the car seat apart and scrub the straps with mr clean. I have soaked the straps for 10-15 minutes and had no issues putting them back on.

Tips for cleaning car seat straps?
Don't soak the straps - it can (will) weaken the fibers and they can break in a crash. Wiping with a baby wipe is what's recommended, then dry them in the sun.

I know not to soak them, my problem was that I can't get it all out by wiping. So I was looking for additional cleaning tips.
