Please share your 10 month olds feeding schedule

DD was very difficult with solids and only just started eating stage 1 at 9 months and still won't eat an entire stage 2. Forget the stage 3. She tried to make herself throw upChat Icon
Right now she still depends on her bottle. 5 bottles a day and a total of 30-35 oz. DH is horrible with giving her solids and some days doesn't at all and then I'm just giving her some squash for dinner. On weekends when I'm home I try to do at least 2 solids a day.
What is your 10 month old eating? Are you cooking for them and if no then what quick foods can I give her now to try? I'm not really good at cooking and am completely lost.
Anything you could share would be helpful. Schedule/quick foods to make/etc.

Thank you!

Re: Please share your 10 month olds feeding schedule

This is my 9 month old's schedule:

6-7 a.m.: 8 ounce bottle

8-9 a.m.: breakfast (1 pancake, 1 yogurt & fruit or oatmeal and fruit, or an egg and yogurt, etc and cheerios, life cereral)

10:30ish: nap

12:00 lunch (chicken nugget and fries with pieces of steamed carrots, minestrone soap, pasta with cheese, rice and meatballs etc)

12:30: 8 ounce bottle

Around 3- I try and push a second nap- doesn't always happen. Sometimes I give a cookie or snack too

5: dinner-- same idea as breakfast or lunch.

6:30: 8 ounce bottle

7:00- bed

eta: I always keep pancakes, waffles, chicken nuggets and fries in the freezer for quick meals when I have nothing fresh. It's all pre-cooked so I put them all in microwave - toaster makes them too hard. My DS only has 2 teeth.)
I also always try to have some fresh fruits and veggies. He'll eat anything- small pieces of cucumber, tomatoes, strawberries, etc

Please share your 10 month olds feeding schedule

DS will be 10 months on the 8th.

8ish AM - 7oz bottle
9AM - oatmeal with 1/2 pouch of fruit
12ish - lunch
2ish - 8oz bottle
5 - dinner
8ish - 8oz bottle

He's not on a strict schedule so times change.
For lunch and dinner I either give him jarred vegetable/fruit, pastina with sweet potato, or chicken or beef with vegetables mashed up in the blender.
His pediatrician gave me the OK on everything except peanut butter, honey, and shellfish (he said to wait till he turns a year).
I am a little hesitant about giving non mashed up foods, because he only has 2 teeth and he almost choked on a piece of chicken I gave him once.

edit to say re: quick foods you can try, DS loves sweet potato, I pop a few in the oven if I know I will be home for awhile and let them bake. Then I just mash with a fork.
Pastina is also super quick to make, I usually boil with water and some chicken broth. You can make it also like mac and cheese by adding butter and a slice of american.

Re: Please share your 10 month olds feeding schedule

Food before 1 year is still just practice! Their main nutrition should come from breastmilk/formula.

Mine are 11 months and I transitioned them completely to table foods at 10 months. I work FT, but they have breastmilk or BF 4-5 times/day. They eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.

breakfast = I batch cook breakfast foods and freeze them in small individual serving baggies. Buttermilk pancakes, waffles, french toast sticks... they get 1 of those with a fruit (usually banana). If I'm home, I might make them scrambled eggs, omelet, toast, etc. I think one has an allergy to oatmeal otherwise that would be a good option.

lunch = leftovers from dinner. Otherwise it's grilled cheese, homemade mac & cheese with peas, fusili with edamame (just some butter, olive oil & parmesan cheese on it), pasta with sauce, quesadillas, breaded chicken or sauteed chicken, rice & beans, etc. I try to do a veggie with it. They love roasted veggies!

dinner = whatever we're eating. they seriously will eat anything!!! I just cut everything up really small for them. They eat chicken, meatballs, meatloaf, pasta, steak, anything!

Like I mentioned before, I work FT so I wanted to be the one to introduce the foods to them in case of choking/allergies. I was off for a while, so that's when I transitioned them. I started by giving them dinner with us every night and just cutting the pieces up very small. Then when I was home, I added in breakfast and lunch. They will literally eat anything and they love food! I would just start by letting her have dinner with you guys - it's great family time anyway! Then you can add in other meals as you feel comfortable.

ETA:

Feeding Schedule

6am - BF
10am - bottle or BF (depending on if I'm home or not)
11am- breakfast
2pm - bottle/BF
3 pm - lunch
6pm - BF
7pm - dinner

Then I do a quick BF session before bed at 8.

Thanks all for the input. I feel like I'm behind on this feeding thing. Even some of your quick recipes are a great help :). I'm always so nervous about giving her table food. Thanks again!! Chat Icon

Re: Please share your 10 month olds feeding schedule

DD is 9 months and we just started some table foods at 8 months. She started to shy away from solids at that point so it's been hit or miss and I still do mostly purees. Her schedule is

7:45 -bf

9:15- oatmeal mixed with fruit, cheerios. I also give her a little of my toast and some chunks of banana or blueberry halves some days

12:00-bf

1:15 lunch- sometimes yogurt, sometimes and fruit and veggie puree

4:00-bf

5:15-dinner- pureed veggies, or pastina with pureed veggies, sometimes a meat and veggie puree. If I have them, some diced veggies like squash, broccoli, carrots, peas. I'll also give her a little of our dinner if she's interested. She's tried turkey, chicken, couscous, turkey chili.

7:45 bf then bed

Re: Please share your 10 month olds feeding schedule

My DS is 9.5 months old and eats 3 meals

Breakfast--cheerios, oatmeal&fruit, cut up banana, pear, etc bits of pancake
Lunch--bits of leftovers (this week he loved leftover chicken and dumpling soup), jar of baby food, cut up fruit
Dinner--bits of what we are having (soup, meatloaf, chicken, veggies, rice, etc), jar of food

He prefers to feed himself at this point. He eats with us, which I think is easier. Quick foods to have on hand--cheerios, puffs, mum mums, bananas, pears, frozen pancakes, oatmeal, cheese, yogurt, etc)

Please share your 10 month olds feeding schedule

My 10 month old is a picky eater. She basically only eats Sprout baby food or Earth's Best.

8:00- bottle( my DD does not usually take more than 6 oz at a time
8:30-9:00 grain cereal with a fruit. I try pancakes and banana pieces but she usually spits that out!
10:00- bottle/nap
Q
12:30-1:30 lunch- usually a vegetable mixed with fruit/ puffs/ and sometimes she will have some of my yogurt
3:00- bottle usually only 4 oz
5:00-6:00- dinner usually chicken and potato or rice and vegetable. I try to give her what we are having but she usually just plays with it
7:00-7:30- bedtime with a 6 oz bottle

My DD is still waking up at night so she usually gets a bottle at that point. She seems to eat small amounts frequently which we are working on but I have to admit I don't mind waking up with her at night.

Re: Please share your 10 month olds feeding schedule

My kids are 9 months old and are moving from mostly purees and mashes to a mix of our regular food. Breakfasts are usually bits of fruit like a boiled apple, kiwi, mangos, bananas etc. with a handful of crack, i mean cheerios, and perhaps something like a mini homemade pancake or an egg. DS is a lot more fussy than DD, but he's that way with everything and is doing fine with the foods we've introduced.

Lunch might be leftover chicken soup with egg noodles and carrots with some applesauce and banana slices. Dinner could be some squash or turnips and chopped up chicken cutlets (with whatever seasonings/spices we would have on it).

Schedules are super flexible around here, but we typically have an 8 oz bottle in the morning, a 4-6 oz bottle after AM nap, a 4-6 oz bottle after PM nap, and then another bottle before bed.

I'm SAHM and just started working part time from home so I find making stuff when I have time and then just heating it up helps me out in terms of time (like making an extra scrambled egg or two when I eat earlier than them and then giving them theirs later for breakfast). I enjoy cooking and we're foodies so I've been making all their food, but there are a ton of options out there if you are not a handy or comfortable cook!

Your DS sounds like my DS 1. He was in no rush to eat solids. I found that things he could feed himself worked better than stage 3 foods because he was expecting a puree when he saw a spoon coming his way and would instantly gag. Around 10 months he became a fan of cheerios and I introduced things gradually from there. He didnt give up baby food completely until about 15 months.

DS 2 is 10 months old and has been doing solids since four months and has taken quickly to them. I feel like this is all new to me since DS 1 was horrible at adjusting.

He gets three meals a day, a mix of baby food and solids still. For breakfast, he usually gets pancakes, waffles, cheerios, kix, French toast sticks, or eggs. He eats school lunch at daycare and for dinner er usually give him oatmeal and a fruit/veggie.

He doesn't have a solid bottle schedule. He doesn't drink much at a setting.
