They are now reporting that the shooters mother was a teacher in the school. So tragic. All those people and children! Who does this!!

Now they are saying the gun mans mom worked at the school and he went there to kill her. He had already killed his dad in Hoboken where they just found his body.

I just read that the mom of one of the shooters was a teacher at Sandy Hook Elem. and was shot dead with her class.

I hope people can try to keep perspective. I know this is awful and it hurts us all but school shootings are rare.
I refuse to live my life worrying about this because worrying isn't productive. I'm not trying to be insensitive but trying to show that millions of kids go to school each day and the worst problem of the day is a broken crayon.
Let us all try to keep that in mind as we grieve for those poor children.
It's rare.. but rare isn't NEVER. I can't begin to wrap my mind around the possibility. The idea of it makes me want to vomit.
Worrying is NOT productive.. but when you get a reminder that there are f*cking MONSTERS in this world.. real, true monsters.. it shakes you up. It makes you re-evaluate what you are doing and how you can do it better.
I am absolutely thinking about homeschool. Maybe it will wind up not being the best option for me.. but stuff like this makes me wonder if it could work for me.
Yes, mass shootings are rare...but that doesn't amt. to sh*t when it's your own flesh and blood...

His dad is dead in NJ. He killed both of his parents and many innocent children and teachers.

 There are 20 dead babies today, 20 dead innocent babies. Today was not a day of mostly just broken crayons, today was BY FAR the most horrific thing I have ever heard of happening. It is THE WORST day I have ever lived through and Im not even directly affected.

That is not at all what I meant, as I am sure most people would agree.
I also am not looking to get into a debate today. Not up for it.
I simply meant that for all of us who are sad and worried for our own children's safety, or who now want to homeschool after this, it helps to remember that these situations are rare and most days pass without any tradgedy.
In no way at all diminishing what the victims are going through. This was horrible.
To suggest I would ever mean differently - when I have a child of my own in school - I have no words. I won't even entertain that. Not today, and not any day.
