What would you buy your male boss for his first baby?
My boss is having his first child in the next week or so. I already bought him an Ergo off their registry when his wife had a baby shower.
What is an appropriate gift to give your male boss?
They are  . They are both very wealthy and have large families. Would like to get something thoughtful.

I was thinking either a gift basket filled with cute stuff like a teddy bear, onesie, books, bibs OR a gift cert to like babiesrus

I would order something personalized after the baby is born. I was team with both my girls and you don't get as many cute personalized gifts as those who share the name with others before the baby is born. KWIM? I love personalized gifts!
Personal Creations has a lot of cute baby stuff! A baby blanket? A frame with the baby's name for his office?

Yes. This exactly. My husband's co-workers got our DS towels with my son's name on them. I love them and use them every day. Was excited to get the matching girl version for our daughter.
We also got stepstools with kids names on them...
And baby outfits.
Even a diaper bag, which I liked better than mine & used until it broke.

maybe I'm the odd one out here, but I think the ergo was a generous gift and definitely more than enough....
But if you do want to get more, I agree with everyone else and get a personalized gift.
Someone got us a personalized bath towel from pottery barn and we love it.

It was actually the Bjorn Synergy. I think I spent $150 on it.
Pottery Barn bath towels sounds good. I was thinking of an Anything Chair from Pottery Barn but am afraid it would be too bulky.

I was going to suggest a towel from pbk as well. I love them and its.not something I would buy myself. I think the chair is weird for a newborn. It's big amd they cant use it yet.
If you want to spend a little more, you can get mongrammed wash cloths from pbk too.

How much do you want to spend? Tiffany has nice rattles and piggy banks that make great gifts. For less but still nice nordstroms and bloomies have nice baby blankets. For less there are nice picture frames. Nordstroms sells a liitle box set that isn't that much that holds 1st lock of hair and 1st tooth. A nice baby memory book isn't too much either.

Someone gave my sister in law a beautiful sherpa blanket from Pottery Barn Kids that was personalized. It is really nice and thick and it washes really well.

For Dh's boss, I got a personalized piggy bank for his DD and a cute outfit from the Gap...he is also well off and this was his third dd so she really didn't need a whole lot..personalized is good because even if they are well off, they are likely reusing some things..

not sure how much more you want to spend, but when one of the partners had a baby, we got them something from tiffanys.
when DS was born, we got a fork and spoon set and a tooth fairy box, when DD was born we got the hair brush set.
they arent practical, but they are beautiful

I usually do something personalized from PBK (towels, blanket, handprint frame, 12 month frame etc.) I gave my boss the XL boat and tote from LL Bean with baby's initials and he loved it. Im going to do the same for baby #2.

I was planning to spend anywhere from $50-250. I would spend the same or maybe more as a good friend.
I already spent ~$150 on the bjorn synergy.
eta: he is a very down to earth guy for being so wealthy. he is originally from the midwest.
