When to switch to level 2 nipple

my DS is 2months and eats like a madman. I feel he is catching a lot of air with the level 1 nipple but also feel he may be too young for the next size up. He is 14.5 lbs btw. What age did you switch?

I just switched DD to level 2.

She is 4.5 months and around the same weight as your son.

Try the level 2, if it's too fast, you'll know.

ds is 4.5 months and 18 lbs. we still give him a level 1. I've tried switching him to level 2 but i didn't think he was ready.

Re: When to switch to level 2 nipple

We switched DS to Level 2 right after he turned 3 months. We only tried it because at that point he was eating 6oz at a time and he was taking SO long to finish his bottle.

So we have it a try and he def took it very well.. he was spitting up more for the first week or so, but he's been great since.

He has a lot of gas sometimes and i think it's because of the nipple; he too is now taking longer to finish his bottle then previously. I'll try it out and see if he chokes or not...he has always been a powerful "sucker".

Wow okay... I never knew what the norm should be... My dd takes about 15 mins for 5-6 oz of formula. And I'm still on level 1 nipples. Think ill stick with what works.

OP... Sorry for hijacking your thread!
