when did you introduce the sippy cup?
At what age did you introdice it and how long did it take for your baby to get the hang of it?

6 months, no sippy, we went with the straw cup with handles. I'd say it took her a couple of weeks to get the hang of it. We used/still use the playtex lil grippers straw cups.

when did you introduce the sippy cup?
DS just turned 6 months. I got the straw sippy and the regular sippy. So far, he doesn't get it. He thinks they're toys lol. I'm going to try again in a week or so but from what most people tell me 6 months seems to be the earliest for them to get the hang of it.

DS has been trying since about 6m. we have only been giving it to him here and there. He was using the sippy cup a lot yesterday and he just startign to get the hang of the straw cups.

6 months the gerber soft spout sippy with the handles. Took a few weeks to get the hang of it.

6 months (adjusted) regular sippy. They understood how to use it, but there was water everywhere. Just a few weeks ago I bought the playtex straw sippys and they are wonderful! The girls do a great job with them. THey are 11 mon adj now

i introduced at almost 6 months. He got the hang of it around 2-3 weeks later. I also introduced a straw cup around 6.5 months and he got it immediately.

My DS has only ever used the straw sippy. I introduced it at around 7/8 months.

6 months water with meals...took at least a month to get used to it...had to try 3 styles before we got one that she took to!

6 months, only straw cup, we never did sippy. My first sin got it around 9/10 months after we consistently offered it. My younger son is now 10th.5 months and almost has it, though we were incredibly inconsistent in giving it to him until recently.

offered it starting at 6 months
They started to really get it around 9-10 months
by 12 months only sippys/straw cups...no bottles

i did pretty much the same as the ladies above. introduced straw cup at 6 months, she had it down by 8. I personally chose a straw cup bc I spoke to one of the speech therapists I work with and she recommended the straw. She said it promotes proper tongue placement for speech development. I figured I would give it a try since I hadn't tried anything yet.

6 months and we went with the straw one. I heard that the straw is a more natural sucking and is better for their teeth.

our PED recommends the straw sippy for the first sippy cup so that's what we did. DD figured out how to use it on the first try and we've been using the same cups ever since (playtex lil gripper straw sippy).

we first got the sippy spout to the born freeglass bottles, then at 9 months I finally tried the playtex sippy with handles - i think it says 6 m +. ds did fine with it and soon went to the platex straw sippy.

I just have to saythat pretty much from the time we both got preg, right up u til now how "in sync" we are bc I was wondering/gonna post the same thing!!!!! LOL!!!!!

Tried the sippy with both my girls and they hated it and didn't really "get it" so I went straight to straw cups instead and once I did that both girls got the hang of it super quickly and the transition to milk in a cup was a breeze since they grew to love their cups
