what age should I stop using swaddle me?

I know on package it goes by weight but would like ur thouhghts. Ds is almost 5 months and at night in the swaddle me and rnp. Mil is concerned bc she thinks its like a straightjacket but ds won't sleep without it still. Tia!!!

My suggestion is to stop when you feel comfortable or if you see that DS is busting out of it and disturbing his sleep.

I had DD swaddled until she was 5 months and the only reason I stopped was because she would break free and it would wake her up. I decided to stop cold turkey and I was so worried that the first few nights would be a disaster but they weren't. She slept better without it. She was also in her crib since 7 weeks old.

I had DD swaddled until after 6 months.
She was fine with it and it was the only way she would sleep and trust me when I tell you, if she was sleeping, I wasn't messing with it!!

I stopped swaddling him the first night home when he busted his little hands out of the middle out of it then out of the top of it and just busted himself completely out of it.

Don't listen to your MIL. If your DS is sleeping comfortably in it then keep doing it. He'll let you know when he doesn't need it anymore by busting out of it and waking up all night.

Once they break free from it or they can roll over because that can be dangerous,

We stopped at 4 months because she was rolling over.
