here do you buy "special occassion" dresses for your toddler?
DD is almost 2.5 and is wearing a 4T. Her brother's christening is in November and i"m trying to find a dress for her. Looked online at kohls, gap, macy's and gymboree and didnt see anythign I liked.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on where to look?

When I know it's a "one time wear" type of dress, I always check Once Upon a Child first. They have some really amazing dresses in perfect condition for CHEAP. After that, I usually have good luck at Childrens Place online.

Dresses tend to be so seasonal. Now, I'm not crazy about the fall dresses.
Janie and jack have some pretty ones. Online, you may be able to hit up the sales section because they tend to be pricey. Marshall's may have summer ones (more frills).

gymboree or their outlet in the source - two totally different stores as far as selection, carter's, children's place, dillard's (online), crazy 8
as a PPer said - very seasonal...so some seasons i LOVE their fancy dresses...so seasons - not so much...so I rotate every year! lol

Lord & Taylor Macy's Gap Children's Place (they have their holiday lines out now on line) Gymboree Crazy 8 (they have their holiday lines out now on line) Janie and Jack
I agree with the other girls that it is really seasonal. If I like something, I have purchased it in the size up so I will have something for my DD to wear to off "season" events. I have this issue every rosh hashanah/yom kippur. So I usually buy in advance because nothing is out in early September that is holiday appropriate.
