DS biting my nipple while BF
So DS is almost 5 months and for the first time today he bit me while BFing, OUCH! It doesnt look likek hes teething yet but I could be wrong. He did this twice today and now Im afraid to keep BFing him. Any tips?

DS biting my nipple while BF
DD has done this occasional the past week or so. She cut her first tooth today so that could be why. I let her chew on a frozen teether for a minute or two before starting each side and she's been doing okay.

I'd immediately take him off if he does that. Then, wait a little bit and resume nursing.

DD did this while she was teething also. Then once she got the teeth it got even worse! I would take her off and sternly tell her NO, and then she would laugh at me!!! It took about 2 weeks for her to get it out of her system and bite me on and off, but she stopped. I was at the brink of stopping BFing all together, but was hoping that she would stop and she did.

DS biting my nipple while BF
DS has done this and once even drew blood! he sometimes does it when he's done or almost done because he's bored and just likes to use my as a pacifier. but more often then not, he knows not to bite.

DD went through a phase where she did this all the time. OUCH! I'm glad I keep going though becuase she did eventually stop. When she would bite I would sternly stay "No!" and stop nursing her. It took a little while but she did finally stop. Holy crap did it HURT sometimes though!

Just firmly say no and pull him away from your nipple. This worked for me. SHe only bit me a couple times and she's 12 months and just sarting to wean now.

Thanks for the replies ladies. I really dont want to give up on BFing just yet so I hope he doesnt keep this up. He tends to do it more when hes done drinking and just using my nipple as a play toy. I guess I'll have to stop him as soon as he is done.
