Mommas who had to stop eating dairy while breastfeeding plz come in
Ds is having skin rashes and after I stopped drinking whole milk, his skin got better. Does that mean he's allergic to dairy products? Should I take him to an allergist? Or will pedi do an allergy test? TIA for any advice!

I would definitely talk to your ped about it. My son had a milk protein allergy, for which there is no test, just process of elimination. He was diagnosed at 6 weeks old. His symptoms were: very bad gassiness, blood in stool, and mucousy poop with streaks of blood in it. If you bring a poop diaper to your ped, they can test it for blood, which would indicate a sensitivity. HTH!

I agree with PP to talk with your ped about it. I was dairy-free for DC#2 so I immediately stopped dairy as soon as DC#3 arrived but he still seemed very fussy/uncomfortable. I noticed after I had wheat he was noticeably more uncomfortable so I took another step and eliminated gluten from my diet too. I noticed a big improvement in his skin and cradle cap as soon as I removed the gluten - maybe that will help your LO, too?
