DS chipped tooth
My poor DS tripped and went face first into the concrete. By the grace of god there was no cut and no blood, but he did chip his front tooth. I know it's not the end if the world since its a baby tooth, but will and dentist bother fixing it? He's only 2 so it's not like it's going to come out any time soon. I would like to have it fixed, but I don't know if that's just silly. Either way I'm going to call the dentist tomorrow to have him looked at. I want him to make sure he didn't damage the nerve.

Re: DS chipped tooth
I am so sorry. I dont blame you for being upset. I doubt they will do anything for it but definitely have it checked out.

Re: DS chipped tooth
Nope, dentist won't touch it. It happened to my youngest at about 15 months. He is now 25 months & still has a chipped tooth. Both.Dr & dentist said it'd pointless bc its a baby tooth.

Re: DS chipped tooth
we went through the same thing when DS was 21 months. He threw a tantrum over chocolate milk and smashed his face into a table when I first looked, i didnt even see the chip (because it was small and I was looking for blood).
it broke my heart his perfect little smile. I swore I was taking him to a ped dentist to have it bonded. after a few days, we started calling him chip and it grew on me. Now, thats just HIS smile
if you really want to get it fixed, they will but if it is small, i wouldnt mess with it. within 3 years, it will fall out anyway

DS chipped his tooth when he was about 2 and the dentist fixed it. I would take him to be checked out.

Re: DS chipped tooth
dd fell and her whole tooth came out. i thought it was the worst thing in the world...now i cant even remember what it was like with her having it. she also damaged her other tooth and the dentist said that it may turn bruised color(it never did) take him to get the tooth checked out and see what the dentist thinks.

Re: DS chipped tooth
My DS did this earlier this year, same age. Dentist wouldn't touch it because the bonding could come loose and become a choking hazard.

Re: DS chipped tooth
This happened to my DS too. I can't believe how common it is. He was 18 mths & I took him to the dentist. They wouldn't do bonding because they too were afraid of a choking hazard. Thankfully there is no nerve damage & he's doing fine.
Definitely take him so you can have them keep an eye on it. We take DS ever 6 mths.
