Does your child like rides?

My 3 yr old DS hates them. He doesn't seem to like stuff he doesn't know or trust.
We took him to Sesame Place and said No to every ride. Finally for him on teacups, but hates it and the flying fish.
He just liked the pool. Not even so much the splash part or the Count's area

Then I took him to Great Adventure and he wouldn't try anything again. Even the little train ride that goes in a circle and ones nothing. He won't even go on the train that RI around the mall or the carousel.

I'm fine with it and it didn't cost him to go into the park. My DH hates rollercoasters, but I'm the opposite. Love rollercoasters! Just was hoping he'd at leat try, but didn't want to push it.
Wonder if he'll ever try or just will always say no.

Yes they love ridesJ. If ds sees you go on first, that may help?

AJ hates rides too for the most part, but when we went to sesame place he LOVED the roller coaster when you first walk in. thats it. when we take him to adventure land, he will ride the lady bug)

when he was at BOCES they have the strawberry festival on grounds, so they open it up to the school during the day before its open to the public. we he wound up going on EVERY ride with his classmates and me. when we took him as a family he only went on the roller coasters.

Took DS to Dutch Wonderland this summer at 32 months and he is a roller coaster/ride fanatic! We honestly didn't know what to expect bc he'd only been on a ride once, at 17 months, and looked afraid that time, but we were so surprised and so happy. He had a blast on the rides and couldn't get enough of what I considered a big roller coaster for his age.

Every kid is different though. I think with rides and roller coasters you either love the thrill, or hate it. No real in between. He may try though when he's older.

If my kids could live at an amusement park, they would. They LOVE rides-like hands up in the air and screaming on roller coasters kind of love.

I would just keep offering to go on the simpler rides with your kids, but definitely don't push it. Both my brother and I love rides, but my sister hates them. It might be too much for them right now at such a young age.

Some kids will not like rides: too much stimulation.

Don't push it.

There must be other things he likes.

At first he would only go on if we took him. Then he started to like more and more. Now he will go on rides alone and loves them. But there are some he will not go on. All depends on his mood I think, lol.

Yes, my DD LOVES them. Almost scares me how "fearless" she is when it comes to them. She is the one on the rides with her hands up in the air. Her favorite rides are the kiddie freefall FROG ride at Hershey and the Trailblazer roller coaster, along with the Ladybug coaster at Adventureland and the Goofy rollercoaster at Disney.

But honestly, some kids do not like them and I think it's perfectly normal.

DD is 14 months and loves rides. Like throws her head back hysterical laughing on rides. I want to take her to amusement parks frequently bc I am afraid she will lose that if we don't take her for a while. I agree that it might help to go on with them if possible.

Last summer he did when we took him to DW he loved all the rides (he was almost 2). This summer forget it he wont even look at the rides and runs when he sees them. Im hoping he grows out of it but for right now im ok w it...saves us money from doing Disney any time soon lol.

i thought DD would hate them, but i took her to the local fair at 4.5 and she LOVED it...im sure if i had taken her before that age though she wouldnt have been so happy.

My DD, almost 4, loooooooooves rides. She will go anything, NO fear. She has been this way since she was old enough to go on them. Total theme park junkie..........I hope that doesn't go away because DH and I love rides too!!

YES! Loved them. they have been to DW twice. They wanted to go on the roller coaster this year. Last year we went on the flume which I hate even a kiddie one and they loved it!

Both my 3yo and toddler love rides.

I would try to very slow going kiddie rides.

Both of my kids LOVE rides...especially DS! The faster, the better I don't go on any rides but DH also loves them and takes them on the rollercoasters and rides like that. It may help if he sees you go on it first.

My DD refused to go on any rides at Dutch Wonderland.
She was hysterical.
She has a lot of fears at this age so it was bad timing.

DD LOVED the merry-go-round but that's the only ride she's ever been on.

My DD is only 13 months but the few rides she has been on she has loved. She loves being pushed fast in her play cars in our yard too. I'm not a big ride person but my DH is so he's happy he'll have someone to go on rides with him lol.

I have 2 DD's. The older one LOVES rides - always has. At 5, she went on Space Mountain in Disney and couldn't wait to go on again.

My 2.5 year old DD would never ever step foot on the gentlest ride! She is terrified, won't sit in the seat, and even if i get on it with her, will scream until we both get off. I hope it changes, but she's been this way for the last year since we tried putting her on rides.

She does love water stuff though and has no fear to go in a sprinkler part. So odd!
