What time is/was "bedtime" for your 2 month old?
DD is 8 weeks old. From the beginning, we have been putting her down in her bassinet/crib (transitioned her to crib a week and a half ago) after her "last" bottle for the night, any time 9:00 or after. However, if she eats around 8:30, we'll wait and try to feed her again at 11:30 before putting her down. So far, she does not sleep any longer if we put her down at 9:30 or midnight. If we put her down at 9:30, she will often sleep until 2-2:30ish, eat, and then go back to sleep. The other day, she actually slept until almost 4 am. However, the two nights where she was put down around midnight, she woke up after 3-4 hours. I thought that feeding her later would encourage her to sleep longer (with the goal of STTN from 12-6). She often naps in her swing or bouncy seat in the evening, either while we're eating dinner, or between bottles, which probably doesn't help.
So, what time is "bedtime" for your DC around this age? Should we keep it the same time every night, regardless of when her bottle is?

What time is/was
DS has been going to bed between 8-9 as long as I can remember. In the very beginning he would wake (if he even slept) every 3 hrs for a bottle. At 4 months he started to STTN but we still have nights where he wakes. last night he woke 4 times. I want to jump out the window those nights!!!!!!!
It does not matter what time we put him to bed. We were out one night and he didn't sleep until we got home at midnight. He will still get up the same time and it does not guaranty a full night sleep.
I find there is no way to predict their sleepign behavior.

Re: What time is/was "bedtime" for your 2 month old?
I swear I couldnt wrap my brain around newborns and their sleep habits/bed time.
At that age I basically put DD in her bassinet for "bedtime" whenever her last bottle was before I went to bed. DH sucked when it came to night ior middle of the night feedings so I often could not stay up past 9 or 10pm, so that is when DD's bedtime was. IMO it was not so much a bedtime (the actual time is more for your convenience) but the ability to establish a routine and consistency that i think helped DD develop good habits. We always did lights out, quiet time after 7pm (winter baby) and then the same routine for sleep, bottle, swaddle, basinett. DD started sleeping 5-6 hour clips, around 6 week and by around 3 months was sleeping 8-7.
Too bad she has now taken to waking up at 6 everyday =(

What time is/was
DD has her last feeding around 8 and then goes down for bed by 9. She was STTN, but recently she has been getting up once to eat and then is out again until about 8. I found that when I started putting her to sleep earlier she actually slept better and was happier.

7:30 bottle and then down for bed. Wake her at 10:30 for a dream feed. She sleeps till 7:30 after this. I tried dropping the 10:30 and she only went to 3...so she's just not there yet. This routine has been in place since 8/9 weeks.

DD goes down anywhere between 8:30 and 10. She eats every 2 hours and if she looks tired at her 8:00 bottle I will take her upstairs and put her down and she goes.
Same thing tho, if she goes down at 830 or 10 shes still up at 3 to eat then again at 5

Re: What time is/was "bedtime" for your 2 month old?
His last bottle is anywhere from 7-8pm & he's been so good lately. He will sleep until 5-6am.
Actaully, maybe he's sleeping too much at night for his age? since he will not nap during the day. He is visibly tired & his eyes will get heavy & even doze off but the second I put him down in the crib, he wakes.

Re: What time is/was "bedtime" for your 2 month old?
My DS was just like your DD. He went down around 9:30 and no matter how much later we fed him, he still woke up at the same time in the morning. So my suggestion would be to stick to the 9:30 bedtime routine.

Re: What time is/was "bedtime" for your 2 month old?
At that age, as late as I could stay up, around 1130/12. We have twins, so DH would sleep from 9pm till 3ish, then do that feeding. I would take the 12 and 6/7am feeding, so we both got sleep. It *usually* worked. Unless one had a bad night, then everyone was up!

Re: What time is/was "bedtime" for your 2 month old?
Thanks everyone! I'm so jealous of everyone whose DC sleeps for several hours after their early morning/middle of the night feeding. Mine only gives me a couple of hours after these days.
Every baby really is different...I just want mine to STTN before I return to work in 3 weeks, or I'm nervous to stay awake driving to work!
One other question: For those who put DC to bed late, is your DC awake before that last feeding? My DD is often asleep in the late evening, and no matter what we do to try and keep her up, she stays asleep!

My DD is often asleep in the late evening, and no matter what we do to try and keep her up, she stays asleep! my dd is usually awake at 11 looking to eat. If she isn't awake I wake her to feed her. I don't change her into her pjs until 11 so when I change her she always wakes up. I'd rather fill her belly at 11 than have her wake at 1 or 2.

Re: What time is/was "bedtime" for your 2 month old?
my DD is on the same schedule . At around 8:30 /9 she is asleep right after i feed her. Then she wakes up around 10:30-11 for her last feeding and then shes up around 2:30-3 for the next feeding. I can occasionally get a 4 hour period in there of sleep but thats not every night. The only nights she STTN was the one night we had the windows open with a cool breeze coming in and one night she had a crying spell.
I thought that until they are about 3 mo they really dont STTN. I dont know where I heard that.

Re: What time is/was "bedtime" for your 2 month old?
At 2 months ( 8 wks), DD had her last bottle around 7pm and was in bed by 7:30/8pm. She would wake at 2 am for a bottle then sleep tilll around 7.
By 10 weeks, she seemed to want to go to bed later, So I put her down at 9pm and she has been sleeping through the night till 6 am.

I can't remember with DS exactly but I think it was around 9/10pm. DD put herself on a schedule pretty much as soon as we got home. At 2 months she was sleeping anywhere between 7-8pm and would sleep anywhere from 6-10 hours.
