If you are a SAHM, do you eventually plan to go back to work?

I went back part-time (20hrs/week, 2 days in the office) and don't plan on going back to full-time until DD (and any future children) is in high school

I do this too.

I will go back to full time when DD is in full time school (actually I mean High School as well) , but thats going to be awhile from now.

I work Part Time (I have tried everything since having DD, adjunct, perdiem. SAHM ) and part time seems like the best fit.

I work 2 days a week alternating with 3 days a week. I self schedule both the days and hours. It works for now and allows me to stay in my field and continue to grow.

That sounds AMAZING!!! I'm pretty upset that I have to miss Gymboree for a morning meeting tomorrow. This happens all the time. DH thinks it is no big deal to miss a playdate and/or Gymboree. He thinks I have it pretty good. It is worlds better than when I was working full time but not quite good enough. I'm always scrambling when an impromptu conference call gets scheduled in an inopportune time. I keep having to attend more meetings, which is where my flexibility gets shot.

Your situation really does sound perfect. I wish I had that.

I also work parttime 3 days a week (around 15 hours or so) and don't plan on going back to work fulltime once my DD is in elementary school (as long as we can afford it).

DS is 15 months old and as of right now, there are no immediate plans for me to return to work. If we decide to be one and done, I will probably go back when DS enters Kindergarten. If we decide to have another in 1-2 years, I will go back when that child is 5 and DS is 7-8.

I definitely want to. Right now I am pregnant with #2 but once I have her I would like to go back very part time. Once both kids are in school full time then I would love to go back to work full time.

I don't have any child care options really so going back to work before they are in school would sort of be counterproductive as I'd be spending all my money on daycare. Not to mention I LOVE being a SAHM Chat Icon

I'm hoping to go back PT. Both my kids will be in school FT in Sept. If I can't find PT, then, I'll be home for them. I've been home since Dec. 2006 and would love to bring in extra money. My biggest thing is I will not pay for after care because I feel like I'd be working to pay for that. I'm going to look. Not stress about it, but, if something comes along I'm interested in, I'll hop on it. :)
