recommend your thermometer
hi all, i'm crashing from the pregnancy board. It seems as though the thermometer I had gotten rec'd bad reviews online (Safety 1st no touch thermometer), so I was wondering what your recommendations were since you've BTDT? TIA!

Re: recommend your thermometer
my pediatrician told me to only use rectal thermometer for the first 6 months. I just have one I picked up from CVS, I think it is made by Vicks. But I also use the ear one and the temporal one too (since I am neurotic).

We have a Safety 1st rectal thermometer as well as a Vicks rectal- both are great.

Re: recommend your thermometer
Ok i guess I am going to return mine then, since rectal is best.... I also have a grooming/healthcare kit that came with a thermometer but not sure if that is the same.
What about for when they are fidgety, can you use an ear thermometer?

Re: recommend your thermometer
I literally have every type and the rectal consistently shows a higher temp. Next closest in our comparisons is the paci one but it has crappy reviews too. The no touch one is imo horrendous. When we first got it it seemed great but when ds2 had roseola and his rectals were 105 the damn thing showed 101 or 102!! Imagine?
