WWYD - I fell yesterday
I took a small fall yesterday. My ankle gave way when I was leaving MIL's apt and fell off the one step and on to the floor. I fell sideways and scraped my leg. Baby seems to be okay, shes been moving and kicking.
I took it real easy yesterday, took a nap, drank lots of water and felt baby move.
DH is still a little worried about my fall and wants me to go to the dr but I think I'm okay. I have not have any cramping or bleeding and shes moving a lot.
What would you do if you were in my situation?

Re: WWYD - I fell yesterday
I was in your situation a few months ago. I fell straight forward on my belly in the subway. I called my OB right away and they weren't overly concerned because I felt the baby moving, but they still had me come in because I was unsure if I actually hit my belly hard on the ground or not.
If I hadn't broken my hand, I'm not sure I would have even gone to the hospital, but I needed to get that taken care of, so I did.
If I were in your shoes - I think I'd continue to monitor baby movements throughout today and if everything feels normal don't worry. Maybe just call the dr. just to see what they think...they will probably tell you the baby is VERY protected in there, which she is, I promise.
Good luck!!!

Re: WWYD - I fell yesterday
Thanks! I was telling DH she has a lot of padding in my belly and I didn't fall directly on my belly. I guess his concern is making me a little anxious. I'll continue to monitor her movement. Shes been a very active baby after the fall so I would like to believe everything is okay.

Re: WWYD - I fell yesterday
i'm probably in the minority here but i probably would not go unless i landed really hard.
but if DH was super-worried, i might at least call the dr to see what she thinks so that DH could calm down.

I'm in the same boat as you but I think I will call the dr just to ease DH's mind.

Re: WWYD - I fell yesterday
I had a similar fall when I was pregnant with DS 1. I called my Dr and they weren't too concerned because I felt movement and didn't land on my belly.
Hope your ankle is ok!

Yikes, hope you're OK! Good thing you're feeling movement, but maybe call the Dr just to be safe.

Re: WWYD - I fell yesterday
I personally wouldn't rush out to the doctor. If time has passed and there is no complications (like bleeding or discharge) and you feel your LO moving... then the baby is fine. I was in a bad car accident and that is essentially what they told me. If you fell directly onto your tummy, I might go in person, but otherwise I wouldn't. You can always call and ask whether or not THEY think it is necessary. They may say no with the information you tell them but if they want to play it safe and check then let them make that decision.

I'd go to the dr to double check. It's probably fine but better off knowing for sure. I'm just paranoid like that though.

Re: WWYD - I fell yesterday
i'd at least call the OB and let them make the decision.
i feel 6 weeks ago and ended up being admitted overnight for observation for placenta abruption (separation from the uterus). worse case scenario, i would have had an emergency csection to deliver my 2lb 7oz baby (at that stage i was 27 weeks).
thankfully everything was okay but i only knew that because my OB told me to go to the hospital.
just call.
