Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
Honestly, unless it was someone super close, like a sister, I think I would say thank you but decline. I know I wouldn't want to go to a wedding 2 weeks before my due date let alone be in one.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
so in like, a couple of months??
it depends on who it is, but that is very short notice. unless it was a very good friend or close relative, i would politely decline.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
i agree with the others - if you're not super-close with the bride-to-be, then decline.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
It would depend on who it was - but most likely, I would have to apologize and say I could not do it.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
I wouldn't unless they were super close and kew there was a chance I wouldn't be able to make it. They will be counting on you for pairing up groomsmen and photos and all.
My good friend was TTC at the time of my wedding and wasn't sure if she could be in the wedding. We got dresses at Davids and went just about 3 months prior so we said if she ended up being due at the time of my wedding then she would decline. Otherwise she would be in it. She wasn't pregnant at the time of my wedding but ironically her twins were born ON my 1 yr anniversary.

I would decline. Being 39 weeks right now I know it would be too much if that was me. Keep in mind you may go early as well.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
I imagine that must be pretty stressful. DD is a Flower girl 2 1/2 weeks before my due date and I am worried about the what ifs.... I would decline, and just help with all the extras that you can between now and then. That way the bride feels supported but you don't feel obligated.

this.
I am the MOH in a wedding 6 weeks after my EDD and I am already about it.
I was supposed to go to a wedding 9 days after my csection with my son and just could not do it.
2-3 weeks before, if it were a best friend or sister then I might say yes. Friend, no.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
People get so crazy with weddings - but I agree that if it's not a sister or super close friend, I would decline. Pregnancy is so unpredictable and the last thing a bride needs is an unpredictable MOH (because it's always about the bride!!).

I wouldn't. I would feel bad if the baby came early and I couldn't be in the wedding.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
No way. Due dates are semi-educated guesses; the baby can come at any point. You might have to bail at the last minute, and that would suck for the bride. I'd tell her that you'd be happy to share the responsibilities (and fun) of planning though.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
Agree with everyone else... The baby has a good chance of coming early (40% chance if it's your first, greater chance if it's second or more) and that wouldn't really be good...

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
I wouldn't do it. Too close to due date and being in a wedding party involves a LOT of standing around, getting up early in the morning, posting for photos, dress fittings, uncomfortable shoes, ugh. No way. Maybe you could offer to have another role in the wedding, like doing a reading or something?

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
I would be honest and share your concerns with her. If she's ok with the fact that you might go early and could possibly be in the hospital with a new born; or home recovering that she'll have to go without a MOH or have a bridesmaid on standby that can be the MOH that day instead.
She might tell you not to worry about it then; OR she might say she's willing to take the risk.

Re: Opinions Pleaseeeeee
How far away is the wedding going to be? I wasn't allowed to drive more than 30-45 minutes from my home / the hospital after 36 weeks my first pregnancy. Two weeks before my due date was Christmas and we couldn't travel 1.5 hours to spend it with my ILs. Just something else to think about. A long car ride is sometimes known to induce labor.
