Question about spotting

I just peed and when I wiped I saw a tiny bit of red (like the amount to equal the size of a nail head- maybe a little smaller). Do you think this is something to be concerned about? I have no cramping.

I'm not sure what is considered spotting- would I need to wear a pad, because it would be that much, or would I see it in my urine?

Not sure if I should call my Dr. Like I said, it's a very tiny amount and don't want to be over reacting, but also not sure if it could be something bad.

Re: Question about spotting

I've been spotting ever since I found out I was PG, so it's been going on an entire month now. For me, it's been there when I wipe and rarely makes it way to the undies, so I haven't had to wear a pad or anything at all. It's been mostly brown, sometimes pink and red only once.

Even though I haven't had any cramping and it's never been a lot, I was still very nervous when it first started and called my Dr. I've already been to see them twice (I'm just 9 weeks today) and getting to see the little bean and see the heartbeat (haven't heard it yet though, maybe Monday if I'm lucky) made me feel a TON better.

If you're concerned at all, call your Dr, it's better to be checked out and see that things are ok than to worry at home!

How far along are you? Whenever ive had tiny amounts of red blood it was from irritation. ( i was on progesterine so it can irritate). I could also feel sore then too. I was told to dab, not wipe because all our blood flows down to that region and we are more apt to be swollen and have bleeding from irritation.

Just want to throw this out there - is there a chance it came from your bladder? It could be a sign of a UTI, not sure if you've had any other symptoms.

If that's all that you have, I probably wouldn't worry about it. If it gets worse, or you have cramps, or you are nervous, call your doctor.

I am 6 weeks. Where ever the blood was from, it was very little and it has stopped. I will def keep an eye on it though. And that's good advice, to dab and not wipe.. thanks!
