Spotting question? Do you think I should call the doctor?
I'm not TTC, but I didn't know where else to ask this question. I have been spotting now for 8 days. It started off brown with lots of CM. (sorry TMI) then it went to pink/red. It is so little, but it keeps happening everyday. I have no cramping at all. I have very long AF cycles, and usually get AF on day 35. It is day 36, so I'm a little concerned. I usually have spotting before AF, but only for a day or two, not 8 days.
I have a 10 month old, so I know how it feels to be pregnant, and I don't have any symptoms at all. Actually with DS, I had bad cramping my whole first trimester and even a little spotting. I have not taken a HPT, because I really don't think I'm PG, but of course, you never know. I have only had AF four times since DS, but this has never happened to me before.
Any suggestions? I was thinking of waiting four more days, and see if the spotting is still happening, and then calling the doctor. I think I may take a test, if AF doesn't come by Sunday. I'm just worried something is wrong, I can't see how this can be normal.

Re: Spotting question? Do you think I should call the doctor?
Well, I have been TTC for almost a year now, and just last month had a similar situation for the 1st time ever (and not pregnant). I have typical length cycles, but I started spotting lightly early (and increased day by day until it was quite brown and I needed a pad...sorry, TMI) and then my period actually came on day 33--which was at least 3-5 days late.
I saw my doctor for a scheduled visit on Tuesday and he didn't seem concerned at all given where I was in my cycle. He presumed that there was a chance I didn't ovulate last month and hence, my progesterone level dropped early, causing the spotting and late AF.
So, I'm sure it's not a problem and if it were me, I'd give it a couple of days. However, if your mind is troubled, definitely call the doctor--it can't hurt!

I would only wait a day or two before calling the doctor. 10 days sounds like long enough.

Took a HPT and got a BFN. I'm going to wait a few days and call the doctor. Yeah, I think there is a big chance I didn't ovulate this month. Like I said, this is only the fourth time I have had AF since DS was born, so my cycles could be all off. Thanks for the help!
