If you have GD, does your doctor deliver you early?
I just found out that my 2 hour number was really bad (my other blood draws may have been ok) so I'm being referred to a diabetes place next week. I had a c-section with DS after a failed induction. I'm currently being monitored for possible growth concerns although  has been measuring right on target. I was told at an earlier appointment that I wouldn't be allowed to go past my due date because of potential growth issues.
I had been undecided about whether to try for a VBAC or just do a scheduled c-section. I figured I would see how things were with the baby and if I went into labor on my own before my due date, I'd see how things went. Now that I seem to have GD, I'm wondering if I'll automatically be scheduled for a c-section at 39 weeks. If you have GD, does your doctor automatically deliver you early? What if there are no signs that the baby is measuring very large?

i had GD and my doctors wanted to schedule me for an induction at 39 weeks due to the fact that babies are supposed to be big when you have GD.
i ended up going into the hospital at 38w5d and he was born the day before 39 weeks at a whopping 4lbs 10oz...so much for the big GD baby theory 
he was measuring small and they still wanted to nduce me at 39 weeks

I had GD with DD and my OBs practice did week 39 deliveries for moms with GD. I was induced with her exactly 1 week before my due date.
My OB doesn't automatically do a c/s for GD.

i was induced day before due date. my gd numbers were well controlled, baby was estimated around 7 1/2 lbs. she was born 8lb 6oz.

I had GD with my latest pregnancy and was NOT "scheduled" to have my baby early. My OB was taking it week by week. Baby was in the 65th percentile, but saw no other concerns with the size. I was waiting to go into labor whenever and that was that.
I did however end up delivering early because of high blood pressure and pre eclampsia. The early delivery had no bearing on my GD.

Since I've had a c-section, I know I can't be induced. If I have to deliver early b/c of GD and don't go into labor on my own, I'll end up with a scheduled c-section. Were there any concerns about DD's growth or does your practice deliver early for all women with GD?

No concerns about DDs growth. She was born at 6lbs 11oz at exactly 39 weeks. My practice delivers all GD pregnancies at 39 weeks.

No concerns about DDs growth. She was born at 6lbs 11oz at exactly 39 weeks. My practice delivers all GD pregnancies at 39 weeks.
Eta: if I went early, it would have been an automatic c/s though.
