Recommend your baby movement monitor

I have to admit, I don't know much about them, but I would really like to get one for peace of mind. I just found out about Angelcare...do they offer a monitor that is just for movement? We already have a video/sound monitor. Are there any other better ones out there you would recommend? TIA.

Re: Recommend your baby movement monitor

I lost my first baby to SIDS so I bought the Angelcare monitor for my next baby. I hated it. Once she could roll I got way too many heart stopping false alarms no matter how much we messed with the sensitivity of it. For my 4th baby I got the Snuza Halo Movement Monitor. We loved it! It works even when they can roll. We did get false alarms 2 times when he was really little. He was hardly moving while sleeping and set it off twice. He was so out those two times that it took a lot to wake him to make sure he was ok. I couldn't visibly see or even feel his breathing with my hand(while the alarm was sounding) so I can see why the alarm went off those two times. For all I know, that could have saved his life. What I also love about it is it vibrates if if doesn't sense breathing in hopes to startle them a bit to make them breath. This thing is awesome.

We cloth diaper and I found it worked best clipping it onto the cloth diaper then putting a cloth diaper cover on over it to hold it firmly against his belly. Cloth diaper covers are like $10 and can be used over regular diapers too.

I like the vsense got it at buy buy baby it comes with 2 pads so when the baby gets bigger move of the mattress is covered. The first time it when off was when my DD was 8 months it was a hot night in March and we had her still very bundled up for the winter. I ran in and grabbed her she was okay, but I don't know if it was a false alarm or not but that night I was very glad to have it.
