Leg Cramps
I'm almost 22 weeks and last night I woke up with my first leg cramp. Actually I rolled over and stretched and OMG did it hurt!! I had to get up and walk on it. It stopped but today it still felt funny in the am when walking, climbing the stairs and standing on my toes to reach for something. Is this normal? Although its feeling better now, I'm paranoid of a blood clot.

Re: Leg Cramps
I get them too and they are soooo painful. I asked my dr and she said it was normal. She said to make sure to stay hydrated so make sure you drink a lot of water. I was worried about blood clots too but she didn't seem so concerned. You should ask your doctor at your next visit but I wouldn't worry too much until then.

Charlie horses are the reason why I'm petrified to stretch! They are sooo painful.

I've gotten them before I was preggo (not that often) and it was nothing compared to the one I got on Sat. night!
Spoke to my SIL she said either I'm not drinking enough or I'm not getting enough potassium.

Re: Leg Cramps
I've gotten a couple in the last week. I actually got one yesterday after waking up from a nap. My whole calf feels sore today, it's awful but I think it's pretty normal for it to hurt the day after a bad cramp.

I had really bad nightime leg cramps when I was pregnant. One was so bad I pulled a muscle and it hurt to walk for days. Feel better.....

YES! Called the Dr anyway and he told me to take a tums at night when I go to bed and not to worry about the pain I feel today. Some women experience pain for days depending on how bad the spasam was.

She's right. Have a banana and a glass of water before bed.
