Going back and forth on whether to stop breastfeeding....

I love breastfeeding and Liam was an awesome breastfeeder until Christmas eve when he went on strike. We have since gone on and off with number strikes and when he does get back on it's no where near what it used to be. He will get ona couple times day and refuse others. he is having a hard time with teething. I love breasfeeding him but it's messing with my period. I have had a 10 day period because when he stopped during the strike, i can back and then when he picked back up again, slowed down and almost stopped and then when he refuses it comes back. He will be 5 months on the 25th and im just going back and forth about what to do....what would you do? My hormones are all screwed up because he doesn;t nurse as often as he used to. It's 50/50 when i go to breastfeed him, he might take it, he might refuse, i never know if he will until i try....i love breastfeeding but it's taking a toll on me with all these nursing strikes....

It started stressing me out so I stopped at 4 months. i figured, I gave her 4 months of breastmilk, and it's just not as easy as it used to be, so I was OK with that.

my DD is 8m and we are in the same boat. my supply has always sucked though so she is both BF and FF. but last few weeks she barely BF at all. i can get maybe 15mins in the morning and every once in a while a few minutes here and there throughout the day. when she wakes in the middle of the night (she STTN most nights) i would BF her back to sleep but now she sucks her thumb and when i put her to breast she sometimes just sticks her thumb in her mouth and dozes off instead Chat Icon Chat Icon i know this is a good thing and being that my supply is horrendous to begin with i am grateful to have made it to 8m but it is still a little sad!! i am not going to stop trying until she stops taking altogether, or until my last remaining milk dries up, whichever comes first. i just got my first PP AF today so im thinking the milk supply is very small at this point...
