Party Favors - About how much do you spend / child?

Just wondering on average how much other people spend on party favors for their children's parties.

usually $10 or just over. But I am nuts Chat Icon
Plus we don't invite the entire class after kindergarten... close friends only ( usually 10-15 kids)

I don't think you're cheap at all! I was thinking around the same. I am actually shocked that people spend as much as they do. Maybe we're both cheap lol

Same here! I don't think we are cheap, I think people on LIF are the exception to the typical population when it comes to this kind of stuff Chat Icon

I try to stock up on a clearance deal. For instance, I found cute little Caboodles sequin zipper bags for .49, regular 4.99, and lipgloss sets for .49, regular 4.99 at the Target 90% off seasonal sale. So I will use those for my DD's favors this year.

Usually around $5. This last party, I totally procrastinated and bought something last minute and they were around $10.

Re: Party Favors - About how much do you spend / child?

I usually spend $3 per kid on favors. I think that is common for the birthdays we attend. I find the consensus on LIF is completely different from my real life experiences on this issue.

I got chocolate covered ores that looked like a skull & cross bones and they were 2 bucks each. They came wrapped w a ribbon & tag. I'm never making party bags again. Edible favors are the way to go for me now.

Re: Party Favors - About how much do you spend / child?

We went to a friends 5 yr old bday party yesterday...they gave Melissa & Doug jumbo coloring pads to each child as the favor. They cost about $5.50 on Amazon and they have both 'boy' and 'girl' themed books. I thought that was an awesome favor.

About $10 - a book and then a few smaller things (games, markers, stickers, etc)

But I only had 5 kids and they are kids of very close friends, so I think of them as close family.

As of yet, we've mostly only had good friends attend our parties.

Our friends are very generous with us. The least I can do is give out a nice favor.

I don't think favors matter at all. We've attended parties where we left with just a balloon. We have also left parties with $30+ favors.

Re: Party Favors - About how much do you spend / child?

I don't go by a specific amount - I base it by what I want to do. 1st year we did pails and shovels and put in beach balls, coloring books and a few other little things. It ran us about $8 a child. DD#1 loved them - but I don't think they were as big a hit as this past years where we did Hula hoops with a ring pop at $2 a child.

I don't think you need to spend a lot I don't put a set amount - I figure out what I want to do and work from there. Spending more doesn't necessarily mean more to the kids.
