nail polish and delivery

Its ok to have your nails polished right? I was thinking of going for a maniucre tonight so my nails look nice for pictures when the baby comes. This is ok right? They wont make me take it off will they? I wont get a pedicure. Just a manicure.

Ok going for Manicure tonight! Cant wait. I wonder if theres a spot in your hand like in your feet that can trigger contractions! That would be great!!!

I don't remember them saying that you can't have nail polish.

I had my toenails painted like little watermelons before I had DD. She was a summer baby. All the nurses got a kick out of itChat Icon

Re: nail polish and delivery

When I went in for my C-section they saw that I had a mani and pedi and they told me they were going to need to remove the polish because they watch the coloring of your nails while they do the c-section to make sure that you aren't turning blue!

I told them that I just had them done the day before so that I'd look nice for delivery and they said OK, you can keep em.

Every nurse commented on how they loved the color!

I had a mani & pedi a couple of days before delivering DD. No issue with the nail polish. I even asked my OB about it.

Re: nail polish and delivery

i had on Essie Wicked and delivery (Csection) was no problem but in recovery they needed to take the polish off my pointer finger because the oxygen machine couldn't get an accurate read of my levels. They said it was from the dark polish. I went into labor 11 days early and didn't get a pedi. My toes were Chat Icon

Get a pedi too! If they need to remove a finger to get a pulse-ox, so be it. Not for you to worry about!
