OMG OMG OMG
hello everyone i'm kind of freaking out! we just found out we are pregnant with twins after doing infertility treatments. we already have one child and we can't believe we are god willing going to have two more!
please tell me everything about having twins after having a singleton! how did your DC handle it? how much weight did you gain? when did you start to show? how hard was it? when did you tell people? obviously i'm overwhelmed and have a million questions!
im a pretty regular poster in hiding tell me anything and everything!!!!!!!!

Congrats! Twins rock!! My twins are 1 year today and it has been wonderful. Yes, it is a lot of work, but its also double the fun and joy.
DS1 was 26 months when the twin were born. He adjusted very very well. He started preschool soon after they were born so he could have his own thing away from the babies. A year later and they are all best friends.
I gained 75 lbs!!, but developed preeclampsia at the end so a lot was swelling. The twins were born via csection at 36w6d, no nicu, came home after 3 nights. The first three months were crazy! I seriously got zero sleep.... But after 3 months and they started sttn things got much better.
I am so excited for you and cant wait to find out your real name.

Congrats!!!!
My twins are almost 21 months ( ) and they are awesome. They were just playing together on the floor making each other laugh for almost an hour. They adore their big brother and he feels the same about them!! He was ay grandmas for a few hours today and they were asking for him all day.
My DS was just over 2 1/2 when the twins were born and he adjusted great. There are a bunch of moms here with an older child and twins....we will have plenty of advice for you

wow thank you for the information!!! did you buy a new car to fit the 3 carseats? we will have a similar age difference so i am hoping that DC1 will adjust well also. do you plan special time for the two of you? DC1 is my buddy now and i am so scared to upset the relationship we have.

we got a mini-van when the twins were 6mths old. before that we had 3 across in a trailblazer.
i was so worried about my DS. He was my buddy, best-friend, we did everything together. we still plan "dates" and go out with just me and him, or just DH and him or the 3 of us. He loves the special time but also really loves all of us going out together. Today he went to my moms for a few hours by himself and he wanted to bring the babies too  He melted my heart when he said he didn't want to miss them too much. Don't get me wrong, he has his moments!! But overall it has been amazing.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Twins are AWESOME. My twin girls are almost 14 months and their big sister is 4.
It is a HUGE benefit to have twins after you have already had a child - because you and your DH have gone through this before. When my first daughter was born I was a nervous wreck. If she cried for more than a few seconds I was out of bed and running to her crib, etc. When the twins came, DH and I were so much more relaxed and didnt get overwhelmed. Yes, the first 8 weeks were rough because of the feedings through the night, but then it got much easier. Twin B started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks and Twin A started at 10 weeks, so that was a blessing.
DH and I work FT and we had help from the beginning, so I can't speak that much about being home alone with them all the time. But our nanny has been on vacation for the last 2 weeks so it has just been me home with all three all day for the time being. It is hard to manage them (hats off to the SAHMS!!!!!!!!!!) but it gets easier.
Watching the twins play and laugh at each other is adorable and they follow their big sister around all the time.
I can't imagine not having my twins and I'll be saying prayers for a happy and healthy pregnancy.
Oh - I gained around 50 pounds (I stopped looking at the scale at the end). The weight does go away - I was back to pre pregnancy weight in around 5 months- and if I'd ever get around to doing some serious crunches, then my stomach would look better.
Yay for twins!

I had the same feelings about DC1. We do some things alone together every couple of weeks. But EVERY DAY we get alone time while the babies nap. Thats when we will play a special game, or do whatever he wants to do with me.
I got a minivan... never wanted one and was sad at first but it is really necessary. I can't imagne not having it now. With the 3 carseats, diaper bag, strollers, I can't see being comfortable without a minivan.

Congrats! I have twins and then a singleton. Having twins is a amazing - they always have a playmate. My twins adore each other (even though they do fight sometimes!)
I gained 35lbs when I was pregnant with the twins.

thank you everyone. i am only six weeks along so i know its really early and we still have to be very cautious but we did see 2 heartbeats at the appointment. we are just so overwhelmed with thoughts of how we are going to do this and make it all work!
