What do you wear when IN labor?
When I was watching the videos on childbirth at the class I attended over the weekend, all the women seemed to be wearing a halter bra and sweat pants during labor and I could swear the instructor mentioned something about wearing a tube-type top.
Do we have to go to the hospital in clothes to give birth in? Or will they just give us a hospital gown to wear during labor and delivery? Do they provide a tube-type top to wear? I can't imagine they would...

Hospital gown!
The tube top type thing is a sort of sleeve they have you put over your belly that holds all the monitors in place.

when i got to the hospital they made me change right into a hospital gown. with the IV and catheter and exams...it was the most comfy thing to be in anyway

Yeah hospital gown is best. Not to be gross,but any other clothing would be ruined anyway from the amount of fluids coming out of you during labor!

just a hospital gown - nothing underneath it. I hated being braless - they wouldn't let me leave a sports bra on.

I wore sweats and a tshirt to the hospital w/ a loose sports type nursing bra.
When I was admitted I put on the gown but kept my bra.
I have DDs and there was no way I was taking it off unless FORCED. I would have felt SO uncomfortable- especially right after when my entire family walked in to see the 5 minute old baby.

I agree! I really want to be wearing something. I dont really care what they say. My DD/DDD's will be in my arm pits if I dont wear a bra!

I agree! I really want to be wearing something. I dont really care what they say. My DD/DDD's will be in my arm pits if I dont wear a bra!
OMG seriously! I'm in the same boat, I can't imagine these things floppin around with everything else going on!!!
