I just registered yesterday and literally left both BBB and BRU without picking a monitor. I had to go home and do more research and finally added the Philips Avent video monitor last night. It got the top rating in Baby Bargains and I like that it can't pick up any interference.
ETA: My DH's cousin has the Summer video monitor and it's great. It's very slim and it picks up the signal a good distance from the baby's room.

I wanted the Summer Infant Day and Night video monitor (which neither BBB nor BRU carries) but then I got terrified by the negative reviews on amazon (even though baby bargains gave it the top rating for video monitor). I wasn't set on a video monitor but DH was. After he did the research himself, he decided to go with a regular audio monitor, Phillips Avent.

I have this monitor, its the Safety 1st Prism Color Video Monitor. I got it because they recommended it like mad at BBB. While I like it, what I do hate about it is that my outlet is controlled by a light switch so when we turn the light off it stops charging. Well, it didn't like this too much and now its VERY flaky. Other than that, I like the monitor but considering getting a new system altogether when baby girl is born.
