Belly Rubbing
So I know I'm pregnant and people are excited but its hard getting use to people touching my stomach. Especially because I feel like it's too soon for that. At almost 15 weeks I am just starting to show a bit. But I feel like most of it is still bloat and fat from the first trimester. Was anyone else uncomfortable with this at first? If so, did it get easier and when???

Re: Belly Rubbing
In the beginning when people would rub my belly.. before I was even really showing I would tell them that they were just rubbing the Haagen Dazs I had just eaten.. or the pizza binge I had.

Re: Belly Rubbing
Yes, it felt weird for me before I felt like I was really showing.
Now that I'm definitely showing, its less weird.
I'm fortunate that my belly has only been rubbed so far by my mom, my aunt, and my best friend.
Strangers would probably creep me out a bit. I may run screaming from the room saying "Stop. Touching.MEEEEEEE"

Re: Belly Rubbing
yeah it was weird before i was really showing much and SIL did it...I was like hmm that's just fat.
now i don't mind as much but only like my mom and sister really have done it....i would still find it weird if a stranger rubbed my belly.

Re: Belly Rubbing
I outright tell people not to do that when they do. I'll say something like "Ummm, this is a little awkward"
My mom did it the other day, and I dont really mind my mom doing it "as much" but I rubbed hers back in return, bc she did it for like an awkwardly prolonged period of time. So I rubbed hers back and was like "is this weird for you, bc thats exactly what youre doing to me, so Im just going to stand here and keep doing this until it becomes awkward", LOL.
People like my sister, my nana, my SIL and MIL dont bother me that much. DH not at all. So I usually let that slide unless Im just not in the mood.
Random people like co-workers - I tell them to not touch me.

Re: Belly Rubbing
my dad's girlfriend was the first to rub my belly and I was only about 8 or 9 weeks at the time. SO WIERD!!!
Everyone else is telling me that I am getting a little belly (11 weeks now), but I keep telling them its just fat, not baby yet.

Re: Belly Rubbing
I still think its weird. Certain family its ok, but I really feel that all others should ask first.

Re: Belly Rubbing
YESSSS it felt so weird.. unless it was someone I was close to..
....but people at work.. COME ON.. when someone is so early on.. I feel like it's weird to touch them.. especially without asking!
