DH and I went to my perinatologist yesterday for bean's checkup. In the past two weeks, I've noticed bean's movements are not as strong and not as frequent. Everybody I've spoken with said it's just because she's getting bigger. Deep down I knew that wasn't the case. As it turns out, her cord is wrapped 1.5x around her neck. My perinatologist told me it happens all the time and most times they don't even tell patients if movements are the same. Luckily with her equipment, she was able to see the blood flow and it looked good. Now I have to keep a kick/movement log and if for some reason she doesn't move for two hours, it's off to the hospital. Please say a prayer that her cord unwraps so she can cook awhile longer! Also please trust your gut. Always call your doctor if something doesn't seem right!
Re: prayers please...and always listen to your gut
good luck! i found out a few weeks after my c-section that was born with the cord wrapped around her neck 1x. she was fine and breathing well despite being only 33w! good luck, hopefully it will be just fine!

Oh no!
So, is it all the way around once and then half? Is it loose? The good news is the umbilical flow is good! That's important!!!
I was told 3 appointments ago to monitor movements because our baby's cord is "draped" like a scarf around the neck. They also told me that sometimes they don't tell patients, but my doctor believes it's better to monitor movements. I actually asked HOW exactly to monitor movements the day I came home... wheter 2 successive kicks count as one or two movements. And do you count EVERY hour - or only when you feel the baby move?
Are you going weekly now? I like that I have to go every week for my cervix issue so they can measure the umbilical flow.
Did they mention to you if this would mean c-section? I'm guessing that would be the way they would want to go. I'm already banking on having a c-section because of the baby's size.
You're in my thoughts and prayers - but try not to worry too much. I found myself shaking my belly a lot to get the baby moving for my piece of mind. When he does, it's a great feeling!
Did they make it like it's cause for worry or just something to be aware of?

Just so you worry less - both of my kids (1 and 3 now) were born with the cord around their neck. My first it was around twice and my second three times! They were both fine! V deliveries with both and no complications. As long as it is not tight it's fine!
