Re: Daycare moms - how many hours a day?
I'm a teacher so she doesn't attend during the summer, but normally it's three days a week, 715 to 330-4, so anywhere from 8.5 to 9 hours. It felt long when we first started, but she acclimated very quickly and is very happy with her babysitter. It gets better!

Re: Daycare moms - how many hours a day?
5 days a week from 7AM-5PM. Sometimes DH picks her up earlier, sometimes I have to pick her up (which would be at the earliest 5:30).
When she was an infant and I was working in the city, I dropped her off at 6:30AM when they opened.

Re: Daycare moms - how many hours a day?
6:30am-5:45pm, 5 days a week.
It such a long day for DS... but we have no choice. I commute to NYC for work, DH works overnights and needs to sleep when he gets home. DH picks him up around 5:45-6pm because I'm not home from work yet. We would both have to leave our current industry in order to work on Long Island someday, so we really don't have alot of options..

Thanks everyone. There is no way I can change my hours unfortunately because I am part time. So I drop them at 8am and pick them up at 6:30. They are like the only ones there at that time and I do feel guilty that its so late. They have to eat dinner there too. When I picked them up on the first day they were both crying when I got there and they looked frigging EXHAUSTED. It's a lot of action I think for them over the course of the day. Sigh.
They will get used to it. DS used to come home wiped and now he sleeps a lot better there and comes home a bit more rested.
I make myself feel better by reminding myself how much he likes it there.
They keep him so busy though, it's tough on the days he is home to keep up with him!
