Working moms..ever feell like there is just not enough hours in a day?

I just feel like we are out the door at 615 until about 415 then its baths, dinner, tv,playing and boom its time for bed. I feel like I dont have any time to do anything like cleaning, a quick mani, food shopping. Its been a rough week bc Dh has had hockey games and work but still I feel like this alot lately.

Yes, I need 3-4 more hours in the day. The tough part is that most of the people around me actually think I have that extra time. I feel stretched very thin most of the time. It's hard, very hard.

Re: Working moms..ever feell like there is just not enough hours in a day?

I really felt that pressure when I was working at a firm, but now it's completely different with my new job. I only work 8 hours a day, and my commute is 25 minutes, so I get to spend a lot of time with Alex in the morning, and pick her up at a decent hour, around 4:30pm. And, thankfully, with this job, I can work from home 1-2 times a week, which I do ALL the time - it gives me those extra hours to pamper myself, make my own appointments, clean up a little, do the laundry, etc.

ditto. I'm out the door at 645AM and don't get home till 645PM. Then its baby time (feed, bath, etc) and clean as well. Oh yea, plus dinner for DH and I.

I give your girls so much credit!

I am a SAHM and still don't feel like there are enough hours in a day.

And since the time change we have "an extra hour" but it doesn't seem like I get an extra hour's worth of "stuff" accomplished! Chat Icon

I left at 6:15 today. I won't be home until 7 or so. I'll cook, chat with the boys, check homework, clean up, do snuggle time and then bed.

Sometimes I crave my kids so badly that I actually crawl into bed with NoNo and sleep there.

I live for the weekends.

Yes, we wake up at 6:30, are out the door by 7:30. We get home at 5:30, and DS is ready for bed at 7.

I feel like I only get to play with him on the weekends-it stinks!

Re: Working moms..ever feell like there is just not enough hours in a day?

Same for us. Out the door by 7:30, and not home til 6. Then I want to feed him, spend time with him, etc, but stil need to get dinner ready for DH and I. My mom has been awesome help with giving us left overs, and now that the weather is getting warmer, DH can pitch in more with the cooking with the BBQ. I feel like it must get easier when DS moves to baby food, b/c then we can sit him in his high chair and work around him. He is still so young, that we take shifts holding him until he falls alsleep and we can put him down.

I love the weekends more than ever, but my friends are always looking to do a girls night out, which im just not interested in since it means more time away from Jake. Chat Icon

Re: Working moms..ever feell like there is just not enough hours in a day?

S A T U R D A Y! Hey!

yeah.. i agree.

I'm out the door by 7am and home closer to 8pm. She's bathed, fed and asleep by 9pm. So its like I have an hour to really "BE" with her.

I take her to my room and put her on our bed while I get comfy and I know i shouldn't do this but i have her leaning on me or in my arms the WHOLE time until she falls asleep or gets cranky for sleep and I put her in her crib. If she's fussy or bored I sit in her room watching her play on her bouncing horse or we bring her with us into the kitchen for her to sit in her chair while we cook/clean.

Poor girl .. its no surprise she gets a lil ansy when she can't see us. Chat Icon

ETA: so i try to get home earlier.. say 6:30?

Re: Working moms..ever feell like there is just not enough hours in a day?

I feel like this every single day. I get home around 4:15 PM but I still need to get things together for the next day, make sure his diaper bag is filled and just spend quality time with him. Now that it's wedding season, my weekends are booked... I am hoping eventually to leave my full time job and just do the weddings on the weekend. I'll have just one weekend day to spend with DS and DH.

Absolutely - this is why i think time is flying by - b/c there is not enough of it! If i could get an extra 2 hours a day, I would accomplish so much more.

Re: Working moms..ever feell like there is just not enough hours in a day?

Add me to the list... I'm so happy to be able to work from home once a week (like today). It gives me the chance to catch up on laundry and make a decent dinner before 7pm. We get to spend more time with the boys instead of rushing to feed, bathe and get them to bed after a full day at work.
