what do you think?
my mom planned a trip for our family in Novemeber to go to Disney.
I obviously want to go and take the baby, but is 4 months too young to go on vacation?
I'll be driving there with my husband & the baby cuz i don't fly & it will be easier to bring all the baby stuff along.
i'm obviously going to ask her pediatrician when she is born, but just trying to get an idea.
thanks ladies!

Re: what do you think?
4 months is a great time to travel, but Disney might be hard. The baby can't wear sunscreen until they are 6 months old. You can do it by keeping the baby in the stroller, shade all the time, but that might be hard.

We took DS on a trip to MD at 4 months. It's much easier when they are that young!

not too young....they are so portable at that age! I took DD to Ireland at 3 months old..easiest age to travel.

Yes they can, if you check with your ped. Sunscreen is always a better alternative to a burn and I don't think it's realistic to keep a baby in the shade all the time. 4 months is a great age for a vacation because they still sleep so much plus they aren't very mobile and aren't squirming to get away from you

i agree. I think thats fine. It will be nice to be with family all together. I would just say make sure it's not going to be too hot but November should be perfect.

I think it'll be fine. 4 months is easier to travel. My sister took my niece at that age. Her and my BIL took all the kids and the youngest was 4 months. She just slept the whole time and Nov won't be too hot either. Lately it's been cool there in the winter

Re: what do you think?
I think I would be more nervous about the driving. I'm not sure how long you can keep a baby that young in a carseat? Meaning how many times and for how long would you have to make stops along the way? I'm guessing pretty often between feedings and diaper changes? I guess that would be enough for the baby? I don't know, maybe it's totally fine but for some reason I can't picture leaving such a young baby in a carseat for that long but then again infants do sleep for long stretches without really moving so I don't know? And if you do lots of stops where you take the baby out I'm sure it would be okay. That is the only drawback I can think of.
I guess that is something the doctor will tell you. I'm curious because we do a lot of car traveling and I've been wondering what age is old enough for a baby to do long distance in the car. I'm picturing the way we do it now. We've done 10- 15 hours straight with no stopping and that's not going to happen with a kid!

Re: what do you think?
Went to AZ when DS was 4 mos and it was the best decision I ever made. He was not mobile, all he did was nurse and sleep, SOO much easier than if I were to take him now as a toddler.

4m is a great time for a drive like that. at that age, she's still sleeping and eating most of the day.
we drove 8hrs to VA when DS1 was 3 weeks old. BEST ROADTRIP EVER, all he did was eat and sleep the whole way.
