My dad did once. This woman waited with us for the subway every morning when I commuted with him. She was so annoying. One morning, she totally shoved me (knocked me over) to get on the subway. So my dad nudged her back (not a push mind you, a nudge). She goes to him - how dare you, I'm pregnant! He responded, oh, I thought you were just fat and that still doesn't give you the right to push my daughter.
love it!! go dad!
Since when is it ok for a man to touch a pregnant woman????!??! and then to call her fat?! Really?!?! If that were to happen to me, that mans arm would have been broken in 4 places before he could even whimper the words im sorry. Preggo or not. Touching anyone is WRONG. but a man and a pregnant woman can get somone killed, seriously wrong.
1) You could not tell she was pregnant. 2) He didn't push her or hit her - he nudged up against her - like people do in a crowd. 3) I don't think he really had a chance to think before he acted since he just saw his child go flying unneccessarily.

Did she nudge you or did you go flying? either is not right, but there is a difference. If your dad did not know she was preggo, that is another story but the women here who are cheering him on DID know and that is what I was talking about. In a crowded public place everyone is going to get nudged at some point, but if someone did send you flying, that is horrible!
My point is, people should not go around screaming/hitting eachother, because you really never know how crazy the OTHER person is

That is a valid point.
Yes - I went flying. This was someone we saw every day as well. She had been pushy all along but, this was just unreasonable.
I just try to keep in the back of my head in the morning when I commute and things are mobbed- it's just work - if I'm a few minutes late, it's worth my sanity.

I have - a few times.
I have no patience for people who use their phone as the Walkie Talkie feature - like Nextel I think? It's 645 am buddy - take it off speaker! I have literally leaned over and said "Really, you think maybe you can not use the speaker function? It's 645 am!" He took it off speaker.
I also have no patience for people who swear every 5 seconds in a conversation. Is the F-bomb really necessary every other word? A woman was on her cell phone next to me and literally, she was saying the F-word every 4th word. I told her "You either need to get off the phone or stop cursing because I can't take it anymore!" She was apologetic, and got off her phone. And she was talking to her Mother - I can't imagine cursing like that while talking to my Mom.
There are more, but...I just grin and bear it.

Re: Spin-off to commuting: Have you ever gotten into it with another commuter?
Once. It was one of those "Problems @ Penn Station" days where i took the subway to Jamaica. An old woman was standing in the aisle of an older train and refused to move. Now, mind you, about 25 people were crowded into the doorway area and the other half of the aisle beyond her was empty. From the doorway area, I asked her to move in and she just pointed and said there was room in other cars. So, I pushed my way through the crowd and got right next to her and asked her to move again. She ignored me at first, but I started yelling at her that she was stubborn selfish mule (I know, it was not nice but neither was she). She told me to shut my mouth and gave me the evil eye, but I was tired and frustrated and kept yelling at her. Finally she moved and continued to give me the evil eye, but I got through. Then, some guy smiled at me and offered me his seat, which I gladly accepted and left the old miserable biotch standing there while I rode home comfortably.

She started FREAKING out and yelling that I was a gay lesbian.
A gay lesbian. That's REALLY serious.
Not like those straight lesbians.
Isn't that like a double negative. Would a gay lesbian be a straight person?
