Giving up "baby food" what age?
Just curious of when you stopped giving your DC baby food? (jarred, pouch,etc..)

Re: Giving up jarred food, what age?
We still give DS a pouch as a snack from time to time. He can drink out of it like a straw.
This was our "jar" food. Otherwise I made homemade baby food.
I would say he started to really eat our food for meals around 9m-10m. He had 6 teeth and ate like a monster !
I go back to the mush from time to time, when he's teething and refusing foods. Sometimes he prefers puree. Sometimes he wants crunch.

When DS hit a year old, he was off jarred food entirely and off formula.

DD is 11 months, and when she is done with the pureed fruit I currently have in the freezer, she will be done with baby food.

Re: Giving up "baby food" what age?
At around 8 months old, DS refused to be spoon fed. So, he dictated when he was ready for table food. Oh those were messy times! LOL!

Re: Giving up "baby food" what age?
Ann is two on Friday, has always been a really good eater, but I still keep the pouches in the house for a portable snack, during teething or illness, if I have no fresh or frozen fruit around, etc. She likes to suck right from the pouch.

Re: Giving up "baby food" what age?
I'm in no rush. DS just turned a year and we have no plans to stop giving him baby food. It's quick, it's easy, and it's portable--which means I can give him his veggies along with whatever meat he's eating whenever we go out to dinner.
Heck, DD still eats the purees sometimes and she's 2.5! I can't get her to eat very many veggies, so if she'll eat the veggie baby food, I have absolutely NO issues with giving it to her!

Re: Giving up "baby food" what age?
She is 1 now and I have to say she is refusing it more and more.
She still will eat the cereal mixed with a fruit purree but in terms of veges, or anything else, it's hard to get her to take it. She will usually turn away from the spoon or want to grab the spoon and try it herself!

Re: Giving up "baby food" what age?
DS is 15 months and he still gets jarred and pouch veggies as it is the only way I can guarantee he is getting them in him on a daily basis. Occassionally when he is having oatmeal I will mix in a jar of fruit too for some flavor. He is fine with it so is my pediatrician and that is all that matters.

Re: Giving up "baby food" what age?
11 months now and they are pretty much off.
I use it out of convenience (in diaper bag), like on the go and if we are out.
My PT has stressed to me SO much how they need to eat a variety of foods and learn how to chew, swallow, etc. so as soon as they got teeth, they got table foods.

DS will be 2 this week, and still eats the jarred fruit. He loves it, and usually doesn't fit me to eat it.
