Re: vitamin D
2,000 iu per day? well, this is my story. I had to go thru IF treatments and my RE put me on 5,000 iu per day, since I had a very low levels of vitamin D ( severe deficiency)-pre pregnancy. Now, I am on 2,000 iu per day. Well, my ob just scared the crap out of me saying that this is a mega dose that could damage my and baby's kidney and cause birth defects i am freaked out

Re: vitamin D
4000 IU, I don't know what it was before, but I know it was low when I became pregnant and now after a few weeks on this I am at normal levels (i think 54?).

Re: vitamin D
I was taking 5,000/day until about 12 weeks because of autoimmune issues. My rheumatologist told me to knock it down to 1,000 but that the high dose wouldn't have affected the fetus (and it didn't). I've read some theories on it causing birth defects and other actual literature on it being harmless or even beneficial.
