I don't get it... (shower guests)
People keep asking me and my mom in desperation what they could possibly get us since they don't know the sex of the baby (we're finding out at the shower)...
Uh, hello? People! We listed THREE registries on the invitation (BBB, BRU, and Amazon) and included the registry cards in the envelope with my registry information! And there's a LOT of stuff we need that hasn't been bought! Like, A LOT!
I'm nervous that people aren't going to buy the stuff we really NEED from our registries.
And there are a lot of showers where people don't know the sex, so how is it any different that we're finding out that day? They're all trying to get out of my mom (who knows) what we're having.
Ugh...

Just because you have a registry doesn't mean people have to buy off of it.
Furthermore, since you are finding out AT the shower what hte baby is, I can kinda understand how people would be a little annoyed buying gender neutral stuff and then finding out what the baby is. I DO think it is different then when people are  til the birth.

people are so annoying. don't worry, they are just being difficult, they just want to know, they can't possibly be stuck buying a gift when there is a registry!!

How would people be annoyed selecting from over 100 gender neutral items on our registry (car seats, pack n plays, crib toys, swings, bouncers, etc.) that we would register for regardless of the sex? And how is annoying to buy something we need regardless of the gender - and then find out what DH and I are having along with us during a very special reveal? It's a special moment... how is that annoying? And how is it different from someone who isn't finding out until the baby is born? I don't get that thinking.
I fully understand that I'm not holding a gun to people's head to buy off our registry, but the people coming to the party are our loved ones and the items we registered for are what we need for the baby. Whenever I go to a party with a registry, I buy off of that - and maybe add little personal extras to make it special. I don't take it upon myself to completely override what people obviously need. That's why registries exist.

I understand your frustration... people always want to know the "gossip" in this case the gender.
But don't worry too much about it, you'll see you will get what you need, and off the registries too.
As for all gender neutral items - smart girl you are, we did that (we were like you) and now with # 2 on the way - we are again and I am soooo thrilled that we are set should we have a boy this time around.....
Don't let this get to you - really

People don't HAVE to buy off ur registry but it's dumb for them to be wondering what could they possibly buy when a long list HAS been provided, lol. You don't have to buy pink for girls and blue for boys! We knew we were having a ds but still registered all the big items neutral b/c we wanted to use everything for dc2 regardless of sex.

People just like buying clothing. So they're being annoying because they feel like you're tying their hands.
Just tell them to provide a gift receipt if they don't feel like buying off the registry.  Or they could just BUY WHAT YOU ASK FOR. Or they can come to the shower and send you the gift the week after, since by then they'll know. Seriously, I'm rolling my eyes at your guests. Can't they just leave you alone and be normal and have fun???? You'd think they'd be as excited as you are for this reveal! Instead they're annoyed they can't buy you clothes because they don't want your baby in all yellows and greens. How nice of them to make that judgment call.
