Thoroughly Annoyed
My husband (who had been layed off for the past 3-4 months) belongs to Bassmasters pro fishing club. They have a tournament tomorrow and since he has no work he is going to CT for this tournament...which not only costs gas money...but then he says he wants to take my 2005 jeep and leave me with his old beat up 94 chevy...he tells me we're going for a ride tonight to see how i do in his truck....
no airbags, you have to manually adjust the mirrors with your hands, you have to really push the gas to get it to move and when you finally get the pedal down it revs and jumps...and then he says ...we have to drive it to the gas station to put air in 1 of the tires!!! are you effing kidding me??? 8 months pregnant and you're gonna leave me with this POS to drive on the highway to WORK so you can take my nice comfy modern jeep to go effing FISHING??!?!?!??!
i said "are you out of your effing mind?...if I get stuck on the side of this road both you and your buddy are in CT and our other guy friend is nowhere to be found in Brooklyn...who tf is gonna help me out if I get stuck?" and his only answer was "you won't...you're only going 5 miles...I have to drive all the way to CT would you rather I get stuck?" 
I AM GONNA LOSE IT!!!
OH...and did I mention we aren't talking since i got out of the car? we've sat in the same room in dead silence and he just said "I'm heading up" to go to bed when normally we don't get to bed til 12:30-1...are you serious??? he's really gonna act like this because I refuse to be stuck with an unreliable car @ 8 months pregnant when all he needs it for is leisure???

DH's can be a PIA at times, I can relate, and I feel your pain. Maybe today, explain it to him without trying to sound angry (even though you are and have a right to be!) that way no one is on the defensive. Maybe if you come at it from that angle he will be more willing to give in. If that doesnt work hide your keys and registration I kid. I kid. Good Luck!
