anyone feel funny or guilty about....
putting high priced items on your registry?
I love the uppa baby stroller so I had it on my registry but I decided to take it off.
I just felt bad asking people to buy something so expensive (It's $680, i think)
I know my family will look at it & think I'm being ridiculous to want a stroller that expensive.
I hated putting on the breast pump for $370 but I did anyway because I hate to have to buy that myself.
I guess we'll just splurge on the stroller if we still want that one when  arives

I say you put it on. There is no harm in it and it's not like you are forcing people to buy it. Some people might want to chip in and get it for you. If it's what you really want, then you should register for it and not worry what anyone thinks. Plenty of people (myself included) put high price items on the registry. If they get purchased, then great - if not, then you didn't lose anything.

I felt funny at first, but to be honest every single one of my expensive items were the first to be bought off my registry.
My mom's co-workers chipped in on one gift, a few of my cousins chipped in for another.
I would leave it on there. They arent obligated to buy that one item so it doesn't hurt.

I didn't put that expensive stuff on. I just bought them after with any gift cards i received. I only had to buy the stroller, so it wasn't a big deal, but I definety felt funny about putting an expensive stroller on, and the one that I wanted was only around $400..lol...

Yes, very. I looked at my registry last night and I was appalled at the number of items over $100. I am trying to justify the cost of the Uppababy by saying I will only need that one stroller but it is really looks obnoxious.

Not at all! I dont have a big family at all and I registered for all of the items that I liked and added them so I would remember which items I want. I dont expect my friends to buy me expensive items and I dont think I will get many group gifts. I will just buy whatever I dont get at my shower. I feel like if I didnt add them I wouldnt remember what I liked at the store. I already have a feeling I am buying my own travel system, monitor, etc.

I did, so I didn't put anything on either one of my registries (BBB or Amazon) that was priced over $200. That was my cut-off price. Of course...even if I wanted...I wouldn't be able to put my stroller on registry...is $1,000....ahhhh!!!! and each car seat is over $200 because the stroller doesn't take any other car seat but the Peg Perego..... So, DH and I will buy the strollers and car seats since his parents bought the three cribs and the rest of the nursery furniture

I agree!!!! Most big items came off my registry first. Sometimes people chip in to get one big gift. I put a video monitor on my registry I thought no one would buy but my friends chipped in and got it. After my shower was all said and done the only items left on my registry were smaller inexpensive things. There is no harm in putting expensive stuff on; you never know who will buy what.

don't feel guilty! as long as you have a range of prices that people can choose from then you are ok.
I felt bad about the bedding i put on my registry bc it was expensive. But it was really the only one i liked and i put it on anyway.
Turns out my coworkers chipped in and bought it all for me! it was such a nice gift from them. So i wouldnt feel bad, pick what you like and if its not bought then use your gift cards later on.

I felt bad about it, and my SIL said she wanted to buy the stroller. So I ended up getting the year before's color (I wanted green, they didn't have that the year before) because I told her to get it on Albee because it was cheaper there

Put it on. Several people may all chip in and get you a group gift, or a mother/MIL/rich aunt may just buy it. I got all of the large items off of my registry.
If it makes you feel better, why not add the stroller after your shower? This way it's still on your registry and still eligible to get the completion discount if/when you buy it yourself.

PUT IT ON! If someone (or a group) gets it for you, yay! If they don't, whatever! I agree with all the PP - at least you get the completion coupon.
Personally, I didn't go crazy with the registry, but our travel system is like $230 or something, and the convertable carseat is our big "splurge" at $330.

I havent registered yet (since Im still very early) but I wouldnt feel guilty about putting high priced items on my registry. A registry is just that, things you want. You are not forcing anyone to buy it. They buy it if they want. Dont feel bad
