Video Camera?
How many of you have or are getting one before LO arrives?
DH doesn't seem to think it's all that important bc most digital cameras have a video option and the technology changes so much I don't agree with him at all and I really think it's important for us to have a good video camera, especially to get video of her coming home from the hospital and all of the other big "firsts".
He said if I really want one he will get it for me but he actually asked me to go onto LIF ( he proncounces it the way it looks there - LIPH  ) and find out what everyone else is doing. So I am obliging him 
If you do have one, could you please recommend?

We have a Flip camera which I think is fine for now. maybe as the baby gets bigger I will want a real video cmaera.

This is what I was planning on doing, but someone told me they aren't making the flip cameras anymore.

i just got a canon vixia and so far so good. it is super small and light. i agree with you...i def wanted a good camera to capture the baby's first moments. here's a link to what we bought. canon

DH got me a video camera for christmas....he got a great deal at best buy. it will be very nice to capture special moments on camera. I also love how the chip just goes in the computer and then i can email videos and such.

We got one for christmas from our inlaws, I am happy about it even though I havet tried to use it yet lol, but I will learn before she comes so I can record all her firsts and more

We have a kodak video camera we got for our hm that's the size of a cell phone - it does the job
Our Dslr also gas an amazing video and our iPhones have video to so we are pretty much covered

My dh and I wanted one and thought we'd maybe get one from my brothers for my baby shower, but they surprised us and bought one for mothers day so we can video tape the baby shower with it. It's a fantastic sony mini-cam that we love so far! I think it's ready important to catch all the baby's firsts!! I feel like not getting one is delaying the inevitable. And you don't want to regret not having one for a special moment.
Btw, our camera let's us change a video frame to a picture so we don't have to choose betwen video and stills. And it's hd and has internal hard drive so we don't always have to rely on external memory.

We just bought the Canon Vixia as well, although now DH is wondering if he should have just bought me a point and shoot camera that has video capabilities. I'd rather have a dedicated video camera though, so I'm happy with it. I think DH will like it better too since he likes to mess around with video editing.

We are getting one. My parents are getting for us for our anniversary. I got a really good camera that has video capabilities but we feel like we needed a separate video camera. We dont know which one to get yet.
