Im nervous about being a boy mommy...

When i had DD it was great, i loved being a girl mommy and im good at it, it was fun to dress her up in all those cute outfits and i seemed to have no problems adjusting. I always thought i would be a bad girl mommy because my mother wasn't the greatest with me but i found it super easy and fun. Now we have a little boy coming in a couple months and im finding myself a little scared....how will i be mommy to both sexes? I really thought this baby was another girl...it will be ok right?!?

Im in the same boat! Totally expected another girl but im excited to be a boy mommy now ( and scared)

It will be better than okay. He is going to be your little ray of sunshine...I promise As a disclaimer though, I would probably feel the same way if I found out I was having a girl

I was petrified in the beginning! I come from a family of all girls- I have 3 sisters. I knew nothing about boy stuff. However, over the past 2 1/2 years, i have come to love being a boy mommy. I am learning how to get on the floor and really play with them. Just give it time and it will come to you. I find that I don't have to push DS to like anything. I just support what he likes and do my best to expose him to everything.

This was exactly me last year!

The boy bits FREAKED ME OUT!! I hated changing him... I was so afraid I was going to hurt him somehow and then after he was circumsized (which was only on day 2) I REALLY started to get nervous.

My MIL got a kick out of it because I was only to happy to let her take over since I didn't want to touch him.

You get over it though. And no child loves their mama like a boy loves his mama.

Boy's clothes stink though.

Boys are fun but also CRAZY!!...Be prepared to have a lot more bumps and bruises and for them to get DIRTY! Its like DIRT attracts little boys.

As far as the goods, dont be alarmed when they are like 2 weeks old with a boner, it happens. When they poop, there are secret hiding places under flaps, in skin creases, its fun. Boys are fun to dress to, but there really isnt as much as there is for girl, like no accessories.

BUT

they are such mama boys too!

LOVE BOys... I'm nervous if I have a girl. We're Team with #2.
Boys are momma's boys. Mason loves to give kisses and hugs. He's also a flirt.
Although... he is a typical boy. Loves cars, running around the house like a mad-man, silly and sweet... all mixed in one.
Plus, you'll save money on the shopping.
Kidding... there's really cute boy stuff out there, but I agree that girl stuff is more fun.

as a true girly girl myself, I was nervous being a boy mom BUT now 2+ years later, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Its the best, boys love their mommies! Plus, I've grown to love cars, dinos, trains, you name it!

Imagine me...two daughters already, only sisters, 9 of 11 first cousins are girls and of their children 20 of 27 are girls.

And then I had a boy.

Look, I don't know what to tell you...my DS is only 5 months old. I figure for the first year at least, all kids are pretty much unisex. You say having a girl is "super easy and fun." That's now, let's touch base when our girls are 12. Also, my son is super-easy...SUPER easy. He is THE best baby and much better than his sisters at his age. But again, I don't think that's gender related.

So even though I have very limited experience, these are the things I'm looking forward to...
Dinosaur and superhero obsessions!
Getting dirty in the yard...well, him, not me.
Looking out my kitchen window and watching him play basketball in the driveway with his friends.
Having him kill spiders when DH is not around.
Watching him become a sensitive friend and boyfriend of women...thanks to two older sisters.
Our mother/son dance at his wedding.
and becoming the man that his daddy is.

I'm such a girly girl and have always dreamed of having a girl! But I had a boy and I LOVE it! You will figure it out..I still get nervous as he gets older what he will like lol (I always ask my DH what disney movies boys like) but I can't wait.

I have a boy and it is amazing! I thought I would be the same way. Well the clothing is cute too and its fun dressing him up. Its easy you will be fine. I think all the time about when hes older and dancing at his wedding with him :)

I say it all the time....a boy is a joy! And I have known no greater joy than DS slippimg his hand in mine. He is such a mommy's boy and is very protective of me.

Boys are fun and curious and cuddly all at the same time. DS is such a smart, affectionate child. I feel blessed that I get to be both a boy and a girl mom!

With my first, I was terrified to have a boy and I was SURE I was having a girl. I grew up wiht all girls...I had no idea what to do with a boy. Well, I was wrong - it was a boy. I was a little nervous at first. But I coudln't be more in love with him!!!!! He is my protector and we are madly in love with eachother. You will be great.

I have a girl and a boy!

My DS is so much more "Go with the flow" and my DD is "I want it NOW"! LOL
Such differences in personality its unreal!

There's nothing like the love a boy has for his mother. He's obsessed w me and I of him.

Boys are a completely different ball game but from what everyone tells me with girls, they are much easier to raise. JJ was a very demanding baby & still is now but he just melts my heart everytime he does something. Nicholas is so easy going & you can do whatever with him & he will just smile at you.

I do find that it is a lot harder to find "cute" clothes for the boys. Diaper changes are very interesting bc you always need to be on the lookout or just be quick. You will get into the swing of things rather quickly & you will be a fantastic mommy to both your little girl & now your little boy.

I completely understand how you feel. When I found out we were having a boy after having a girl, I cried. I feel like I don't know boys. My DH seems to think it's because my only interaction with boys are the 10 year old ones. Everyone kepttelling me that boys have a special relationship with their mommy. That made me feel a little better.

Our DS was born on Sunday and I am scared but I am also excited.

I can see why you are nervous because you are so used to having a baby girl!! once your baby boy is in your arms, all this nervousness will disappear! you will know exactly what to do

I can't tell you how many times I imagine the Mother/Son dance at my sons' weddings. I get so emotional now when I go to weddings just imagining me dancing with my boys. I agree that boys love their mothers fiercely. I have such a bond with both of them that just takes my breath away. Plus, there is just something about saying "My son."

i had totally wanted a girl before I had DS but now just can't imagine not having him!!

i thought my twins were two girls. i was convinced. when i found out it was two boys i was SHOCKED. i felt the same way - how can i be a mommy of boys?!

once they came it was so easy. now, i really want my next to be a girl but i dont know how i would do it bc i'm so used to boys!! you'll be great i promise!!
