I had my babies...
Well, I had them 2 weeks ago today.
On Sunday March 27th at 2:55pm & 2:57 pm Anthony Joseph and Alyssa Marie were born at just 32w6d. Anthony was 4 lbs 10oz 17.5" and Alyssa was 3lbs 15oz 16.5" I lost part of my mucous plug Saturday night and then suddenly in the middle of the night the contractions began with a vengeance!! I had spoken to my Ob Saturday afternoon when I was losing my plug and knew he would be at the hospital the next morning so me being in total denial I toughed it out all night long while DH was at work, but by 6:30am I knew I NEEDED to go get checked out. We dropped DS off at m-i-l house and went up to the hospital by around 10am. My Ob came in shortly thereafter but I had already been checked by a resident and told I was 3-4cm!!! I was crying hysterically because it was too early to have these babies and I was so very afraid for them. My Ob came in and said "Ok well we are having two babies today!!" I continued to labor VERY hard while they tried to get me an anesthesiologist but it was taking too long and I was already 6cm. Alas, I am ready to deliver and FAST I got my spinal and had my babies. I was in soooo much pain I was in recovery for hours while they tried to manage my pain. I was so happy to hear both babies cry as soon as they came out and they both had Apgar scores of 9 & 9. My DD who was born 2nd had the cord wrapped tightly around her neck not once but TWICE!!! I am very thankful that things worked out the way they did and my babies are ok. They have been in the NICU ever since and they made some great progress with their respiratory issues and then the progress started to halt. DD has had apnea episodes which they say come on around 34-36 weeks and if not caused by anything other than prematurity they will resolve themselves. They are both finally in cribs and nipple feeding now. Hopefully they will get their feeding tubes removed tomorrow and DS is supposed to have his circumcision done tomo too. I am hoping that they will be able to come home soon! I want them here with me. Life has been very hectic with having other children and having twins in the NICU 45 mins away from home. But we are trying to do out best and hopefully very soon they will be home here with us where they belong. I was finally able to get a picture of them together today for the first time since they have been born.

Congrats on your babies! I hope that your babies will come home soon! NICU can be tough, especially when living 45 minutes away!
