Yes it's still to early. General rule of thumb is the weekend of Mother's Day for first planting. After the threat of any frost is gone.

Agreed. Its still way to early to plant. Even if we had one frost all of the flowers would die. I always wait until at least mothers day.

Dont plant now I did that once and everything died - It is still too cold....When it comes time to plant go to Starkies in Farmingdale on main street or Oberlies on East Meadow avenue in East Meadow - They have the nicest quality flowers that will last. Home depot I dont trust because they over water or starve their flowers.

Re: Impatiens -

Im gonna say Mother's Day too only because my DC's day care is having a fundraiser plant sale of all sorts of stuff for Mother's Day. I can't believe I am psyched to get my hands dirty to plant - so not me.

Question-- are these hard to plant?

Never planted before since I have been city living all of my adult life!!

I am challenged when it comes to plants and my impatients look amazing every year. You just have to water them. I give mine miracle grow and they get HUGE!

But I wouldn't plant till after Mothers day and I don't think early June is too late.
