He looked in her ears, she met with the Audiologist and had a hearing test and then they sucked that wax out with a long tube. It only took a few minutes. We didnt have to do the wax thing with DD#1, just DD#2.

DH took her and he said he checked her ears and could tell right away she was a good candidate for tubes (w/ear infection history and build up in the ears). I know others have had the hearing test done or some met with an audiologist too.

Re: What happens at the first ENT visit?

Met the audiologist, they tested her ears for blockage (She had it bad) then we took a hearing test (She was 17m) she sat on my lap and took it.

She had some loss due to build up.

Saw the ENT, he agreed tubes were the best option based on build up, temporary loss of hearing and number of infections.

He was trying to convince me... but I was the one who wanted her to have them from a younger age. So I knew all the facts the two types of tubes, the shapes, the likelihood of her hearing coming back, the time factor for them to 'fall out' the best case and worse case scenarios, the fact that she'd still get ear infections, the drainage and that she could need another set later.

I was ready and willing to give her tubes. A month later she had them, I've been so happy since (and so has she!) It took a year but one has fallen out but not "OUT" of her ear yet. The other is still in place.
