We got the most amazing soft sheets at Macy's. I don't remember exact details, but it was from their Hotel Collection, it doesn't have any colored like embroidery details and I think it was their highest threadcount. They are absolutely amazing, I get sad when it's time to change them!

I have these too but I buy them from Home Goods/Marshalls/TJ Maxx and save myself a TON!

Egyptian Cotton sheets are good too!

common myth- thread count is meaning less

it's the type of cotton that matters

Re: Sheets question - why can't i find REALLY soft sheets??

I always get our sheets from Overstock.com. They always have great deals (much cheaper then $200!) and I get anywhere between 500 and 800 count sateen sheet sets.
I have many sets and have had them for years....still in beautiful condition!

Check out their website, you wont be disappointed!

I agree! I find that Egyptian cotton is very soft. I have a set (I wish I had purchased more!) I purchased from Sleepy's when I bought my mattress I think they might only be 300 count but they are egyptian cotton sheets and they are the softest sheets I have.

Re: Sheets question - why can't i find REALLY soft sheets??

I have spent the most ridiculous amount of money on sheets praying they would be soft. I always come back to basic jersey cotton sheets from bed bath and beyond or sometimes homegoods.. there's NOTHING softer in my opinion. Only draw back is they shrink!

I can feel the difference w/ my 800 thread count sheets, but they aren't softer. They are sturdier, if that makes sense. They fold better and make crisper corners.

I used to have modal sheets, which were very soft.

like this:

At the time, BB & B had little sample tags on the display that you could feel & that's why I picked them!

Re: Sheets question - why can't i find REALLY soft sheets??

I hate the jersey sheets...I feel like they make me so hot while I sleep. I like the crisp feel of the sateen sheets. I have 3 sets from 500-800 thread count and I love them. I like them crisp...especially in the spring/fall when the weather is cool and all the windows are open. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Go to Costco! They have the best sheet sets. I bought the 400 or 600 threat count and they are the best sheets I have ever bought and they are so inexpensive. They get softer with each wash. Everyone that I have recommended them to loves them!

Geez.. I am having the same problem. Willing to spend and I never get soft sheets. I did buy some soft ones at Target months back, but they no longer carry it.
